Rotary Club awards scholarships to four local students

STEVENS POINT — The Rotary Club of Stevens Point awarded four $1,000 scholarships to local high school seniors during a ceremony held on May 7.

This year’s scholarship recipients are Kathryn Ilkka, Marie Keck, Skye Yang, and Caitlyn Yarbrough.

Ilkka plans to study nursing with an OB-GYN focus at UW-Madison. Keck will attend Mid-State Technical College to pursue early childhood education. Yang also plans to attend UW-Madison, majoring in biology on a pre-med track for dermatology. Yarbrough will attend UW-Eau Claire, majoring in biology with a pre-med emphasis toward becoming a family clinician.

Scholarship committee chair Sandy Retzki presented the awards and congratulated the students during the event.
