Ron Kurszewski, 72

Ron Kurszewski, age 72 of Stevens Point, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021, at UW-Madison Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ron will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and family will gather to share memories Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Shuda Funeral Chapel, 3200 Stanley St. in Stevens Point. Visitation will also be held on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at St. Adalbert’s.

Ron was born January 11, 1949, in Milwaukee, the son of Clarence and Gertrude (Steffen) Kurszewski. He graduated from Milwaukee Pius Xl High School.

Ron married Nancy Gross on April 11, 1970, in Milwaukee. They moved to Stevens Point in 1977 and Ron worked as a painter by trade, but was an entrepreneur by heart. He was involved in many business ventures including owning and operating a Coins and Collectables store, Collectors Unlimited, and Coach’s Bar. Ron married Annette Bannach in May of 1997 in Stevens Point. He enjoyed bicycling, collecting coins, and sports memorabilia, and was an avid Brewers, Dodgers, and football fan. He also served as head coach of the Pacelli Cardinal Softball team in the 1990s.

Ron is survived by his wife Annette; his three children: Keri (Matt) Klug; Leah (Brian) Kruger; Kenneth (Veronica) Kurszewski, and his grandchildren Nicholas, Sarah, Max, Nora, and Emilia. He was also survived by his stepchildren Kimberly (Kim Piotrowski) Johns and Kyle (Shannon) Johns, along with their children and stepchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Gertrude (Steffen) Kurszewski.
