Roger L. Borski, 79
Roger L. Borski, 79, of Bevent, died Jan. 15, 2025, at Marshfield Medical Center in Weston.
Roger was born April 24, 1945, in Junction City to Frank and Frances (née Goskowicz) Borski. He grew up in the area and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1965.
Shortly after high school, Roger joined the U.S. Navy, where he served honorably for four years. Following his naval service, he continued to serve his country in the Wisconsin National Guard, dedicating himself to a combined total of 35 years in the military. This was an achievement Roger took great pride in throughout his life.
On Dec. 30, 1972, Roger married Betty Woitczak, the daughter of Felix and Regina (née Grzywacz) Woitczak. The couple recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. Roger worked at Joerns Healthcare for more than 40 years, where he was known as a dependable and hardworking employee.
Roger enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly deer hunting, fishing, gardening, and landscaping. He found fulfillment in cultivating his property and creating beautiful spaces. A dedicated Green Bay Packers fan, Roger rarely missed a chance to cheer on his favorite team. He was also a faithful member of St. Ladislaus Parish in Bevent, where he was active in his faith and community.
Roger is survived by his wife, Betty; his son, Randall; and siblings Dale (Barbara) Borski, Susan (Gary) Pulchinski, and Dennis (Kris LaMay) Borski. He is further survived by four sisters-in-law, Mary Cook, Caroline Smjkal, Terry Borski, and Bonnie Bryden; and two brothers-in-law, James (Philomae Worzalla) Woitczak and Ted (Mary) Woitczak.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; two brothers; his parents-in-law, Felix and Regina; and two brothers-in-law, Robert Borski and Jess Cook.
The family expressed gratitude to the staff at Marshfield Medical Center in Weston for their compassionate care during Roger’s final days.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, at Shuda Funeral Chapel, 3200 Stanley St., Stevens Point. Friends and family are invited to gather at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the service. Full military honors will conclude the ceremony.
Roger’s memory will forever be cherished by his loved ones, who remember him as a devoted husband, father, brother, and patriot who took pride in his service, his family, and his community.
