Rising Star Mill Art Show returns Memorial Day weekend
NELSONVILLE – More than two dozen local artists will gather at one of Portage County’s most beloved landmarks this Memorial Day weekend for the annual Rising Star Mill Art Show.
Hosted by the Portage County Historical Society, the event runs Saturday, May 24, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, May 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., inside the historic 1868 Rising Star Mill in Nelsonville.
Now a community tradition, the show will feature ceramics, photography, basketry, jewelry, fiber arts, paintings, and more, all created by artists from around the region. Live music by Snow on the Mountain will accompany the weekend event, along with a BBQ lunch and locally made treats available for purchase in the mill’s Feed Sack Room. Outdoor seating is available along the scenic Tomorrow River.
Admission is free, and the event is open to all ages.
Artists featured in the 2025 showcase include Kris Crubaugh, Linda Packer, Gary LeBouton, Mary T. Murphy, Lori Woldt, Karin Sieg, Elise Thornton, Wayne Dombrowski, Mark Brueggeman, Ari Bault, Marsha Haynes, Audrey Bohm, Jamie Hartman, Erin Enk, Jeane Chase, Sue Semrow, Ann Rozner, George Nickel, Emma Horton, Nancy Thorson, Marge Krogwold, Ashley Megal, Gary Landowski, Christina Munny and Jim McKnight.
