STEVENS POINT — The Stevens Point Area Retired Teachers’ Association (SPARTA) will hold its book sale at the Holiday Inn and Convention Center, 1001 Amber Ave., from Wednesday, August 14, to Saturday, August 17.

The hours of the sale are noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

To assist shoppers, the sale has expanded its space by adding an extra room on Wednesday and Thursday to display puzzles, DVDs, CDs, books, and sets of higher value.

The sale includes thousands of books and something for everyone, from children’s books to nonfiction divided into subject areas, fiction, DVDs, CDs, and puzzles. Most items are 50 cents to $1 with puzzles priced at $1-$5. Books of higher value are priced at a fraction of their worth. There will be a bag sale on Friday for $10 and Saturday for $5 for books, movies, and music. Books of value will be 50 percent off.

SPARTA awards two scholarships endowed through the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin and profits fund grants to nonprofit groups or organizations in Portage County that directly impact students’ and seniors’ lives.

Book donations will not be taken during the sale, but two donation days, Tuesday, Sept. 17, and Wednesday, Nov. 13, are planned, with more to be announced at a later date.

Donations for the 2025 sale can be brought to Storage Unlimited, 2640 Post Road, Plover from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the back entrance on both days.
