Prevail Bank to host hygiene drive donations for local families

STEVENS POINT — Prevail Bank will serve as a local collection site later this month for the annual Help for the Homeless Hygiene Drive, a regional effort aimed at stocking crisis agencies with basic personal care and cleaning supplies.
The 34th annual drive runs Feb. 22 through March 15 in 21 Wisconsin communities and focuses on items that cannot be purchased with FoodShare or SNAP benefits.
Bank officials said providing everyday essentials allows local shelters and service agencies to stretch limited budgets toward other needs, including staffing, housing assistance, counseling, education, and meals.
Community members may drop off donations at any Prevail Bank location Monday through Friday, Feb. 23 through March 13, during regular business hours. All items collected remain in the community where they are donated.
Most-needed supplies include bathroom tissue, paper towels, trash bags, cleaning products, laundry detergent, deodorant, dental care products, razors, bath soap, feminine hygiene products, diapers and baby care items, and hair care products.
The drive is coordinated and sponsored by The Family Radio Network. Bank representatives said Prevail is proud to support the campaign again this year.
Founded in 1934, Prevail Bank is a federally chartered savings bank with locations in Baraboo, Eau Claire, Marshfield, Medford, Owen, Phillips, Stevens Point, Wausau, and Wisconsin Rapids.
