Santa Claus chases after The Grinch on Dec. 9 in Plover.

The two Christmas icons were on hand at A Very Plover Christmas in Little Plover River Park. The light festival, in its first year, is the village’s answer to spreading holiday cheer without close contact during the pandemic.

Families can enter the park via Chippewa Dr., just off Hoover Ave., for a drive-thru light display from several local businesses, community organizations, and the village’s police and fire departments, from 5-9 p.m. through Dec. 12.

The park has seen a steady flow of vehicles passing through since the event’s Dec. 5 kickoff.

A special mailbox has been installed on the route for children to deposit letters to Santa.
