STEVENS POINT — Employees from the Stevens Point Streets Department install the downtown Christmas tree on Dec. 2.
The 32-foot spruce tree was donated by a resident in Plover, according to Streets Superintendent Luke Kronstedt. Bushman Electric Crane & Sign donated the use of a crane truck for this year’s installation, which Kronstedt said made the installation much easier.
The tree is the focal point of the city’s Christmas parade, themed this year as “It’s a Wonderful Downtown,” a play on words on the Christmas classic movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
The parade kicks off a 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 in Downtown Stevens Point.
