Portage County Safety Fair returns to Plover for 19th year
PLOVER – The Portage County Safety Fair returns Saturday, May 17, with free family activities, live demonstrations, and public safety education in honor of National EMS Week.
Now in its 19th year, the event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, at Mark Toyota, 1765 Park Ave., in the Village Park of Plover.
The fair is hosted by Portage County emergency service agencies in partnership with Mark Toyota. It kicks off EMS Week, which runs May 18–24, and aims to educate residents of all ages about safety and emergency preparedness.
This year’s offerings include:

A motorcycle safety simulator

Hands-only CPR instruction

A fire safety house from Wood County

K9 unit demonstrations

Emergency vehicle displays

Free car seat checks

Free blood pressure and diabetes testing

Child fingerprinting and photo IDs

A vehicle extrication demo

Armed forces exhibits

Kids’ games and activities

Raffle prizes
Food and beverages will be available for purchase from the Boys and Girls Club. The event is free and open to the public.
