STEVENS POINT — Houseplant enthusiasts and gardeners will have a chance to share greenery with others during a weeklong plant swap at the Portage County Public Library’s Stevens Point branch.
The plant swap will be held June 15-20 at the library, 1001 Main St., where patrons can drop off extra plants or cuttings and pick up new ones during regular business hours.
Library staff will set up a table on the first floor for plant exchanges. Organizers encourage participants to bring plants in bags or pots that do not need to be returned. Patrons are also encouraged to include growing instructions if a plant requires special care.
Anyone interested in taking home a plant may do so without registration or providing personal information. While there is no formal limit on the number of plants patrons may take, the library asks participants to be considerate of others.
The event is designed to give unwanted plants a new home while allowing community members to expand their collections at no cost.
For more information, contact the Stevens Point branch at 715-346-1548 or visit the library’s website.
