Portage County holiday basket project receives $842 donation

STEVENS POINT – The Portage County Holiday Basket Project, an initiative organized by Operation Bootstrap, received $842 this holiday season through Prevail Bank’s Holiday Matching Funds campaign.

The campaign ran from Nov. 12 to Dec. 6, during which public donations were matched dollar-for-dollar by the bank.

Prevail Bank contributed $371 toward the total, with an additional $100 donation received after the campaign’s conclusion. The funds will help provide gifts and holiday meals for families in need throughout Portage County.

Donna Marx, a representative for the Holiday Basket Project, accepted the check during a presentation featuring Prevail Bank professionals, including Heather Richardson, mortgage loan originator; Dale Sankey, VP commercial lending officer; Amy Schellin, commercial loan processor; Dejonna Bates, branch manager; and Eric Kundinger, VP commercial lending officer.

In total, Prevail Bank’s campaign raised $20,885 across its branches to support nine nonprofit organizations. Each branch selected a local nonprofit, matching public donations up to $1,000.

Other organizations benefiting from the campaign included the Sauk County Children’s Giving Tree, which received $2,070; the Marshfield Rotary, raising $4,506 to support meals for the Ronald McDonald House; and the Wisconsin Rapids Family Center, which collected $4,290.

Prevail Bank, a federally chartered savings bank founded in 1934, operates branches in Stevens Point, Eau Claire, Baraboo, Marshfield, Medford, Owen, Phillips, Wausau, and Wisconsin Rapids.
