Portage Co. inmate captured, sheriff says

Stevens Point — Inmate Matthew J. Garsomke, 28, is back in custody after evading law enforcement for eight days.
Portage Co. Sheriff Mike Lukas says Garsomke was located near Metro Market, 1500 Pinecrest in Stevens Point, on Saturday.
After a brief chase, Stevens Point Police took him back into custody at about 1:30 p.m. on July 6.
Garsomke was released from jail at 10:30 a.m. on June 28 for a three-hour furlough granted by the Portage County Circuit Courts. He was scheduled to return to the jail at 1:30 p.m. but did not comply with the furlough order.
Garsomke has been in custody since Jan. 28 and was being held on a $1,500 cash bond for charges of including fleeing police on a moped, several thefts, including Campus Cycle burglary, and other charges.
