The Portage County Business Council has announced its new executive director.

The PCBC Board of Directors chose Michael Witte, who comes with “extensive experience in recruitment and community engagement,” according to a news release from the PCBC.

“His past experience at a Chamber of Commerce along with his business experience is tremendous attributes that make him well qualified for this role,” the news release reads.

Ray Ackerlund, PCBC Board President and President of Skyward, said that Witte brings “an immense amount of energy and I know he will be a great leader and representative of the business council around the community.”

Todd Kuckkahn, current executive director, announced his departure in July with his last day being Nov. 5. He has decided to focus on his Leadership Development business as an independent certified coach, teacher, trainer, and speaker with The John Maxwell Team.

“It has been an unbelievable run,” Kuckkahn said. “The staff, ambassadors, board, and Ignite have been incredible resources to make some significant value-based changes to the organization. It has been an honor to work with the central Wisconsin business community and I look forward to working with them in the future.”

Ackerland said the PCBC will miss Kuckkahn “tremendously.”

“I am sure we will see him again and wish him all the luck in the future,” he said. “Todd has a reputation of [sic] success and I am excited to see that continue in his new endeavor. We are also excited for this next chapter of the Portage County Business Council.”
