Popular Ski Swap returns to YMCA

By Patrick Lynn

The annual Ski & Sport Swap returns to the Stevens Point YMCA on Nov. 9.

For more than 40 years, the YMCA has kicked off the winter season early with its equipment sale, which offers new and used downhill and cross-country ski equipment. Other related items, such as snowboards, boots, clothing, ice/inline skates, camping gear, and other sporting items, will also be up for sale.

This year’s event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 in the YMCA’s All-Purpose Room.

Equipment check-in will be held the night before the sale, and sellers need to appear between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, or between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, through the Brigg’s St. entrance. Items not sold must be picked up by the seller between 2:30-4:30 p.m. on Saturday following the sale.

Volunteers are also needed to fill three-hour shifts on Friday and Saturday. As an incentive, volunteers receive an early chance to purchase items before the official start of the sale.

To volunteer or for more information, contact YMCA’s camp and teen director, Tiffany Praeger, at (715) 952-9371 or praeger@spymca.org.
