Police & Sheriff’s calls, Nov. 4

Harassment: Police were called to the 2000 block of Polk St. at 8:33 a.m. when two people, a 51-year-old woman, and a man, age 41, complained they were being harassed.

Crash: Police cited a 68-year-old woman for failure to yield at Jefferson St. and Wyatt Ave. following a two-vehicle collision at 10:32 a.m. Both vehicles were towed by Johnson Towing.

Stopped to help: Deputies stopped to check on the welfare of a motorist on Hwy. 10 and County Trunk A at 10:45 a.m. The deputies helped a man, age 76, change a tire. 

Crash: A 64-year-old man was cited for inattentive driving after crashing into a pole at Hwy. 10 and Amber Ave. at 11:07 a.m.

Found: A 38-year-old man called police to the 1100 block of Airline Rd. in Plover to report an abandoned vehicle in his yard. Officers determined the vehicle had been reported as stolen and had the vehicle towed.

Test-driver: Deputies stopped a 47-year-old man who was speeding at Hwy. 54 and Lucht Rd. in Amherst at 3:52 p.m. The man said he was test-driving a vehicle. He was given a warning for speeding. 

Spat: A 64-year-old woman called police to the 2100 block of Wyatt Ave. at 4:05 p.m. for a disturbance between a mother and juvenile.

Not a baller: Police were called to the 3500 block of Vine St. at 5:38 p.m. when a 41-year-old woman crashed her vehicle into a basketball hoop. The woman wanted to file a police report for insurance purposes.

Oops: A 31-year-old man reported to police that he accidentally crashed his truck into his neighbor’s fence on the 400 block of Frontenac Ave. at 6:06 p.m.

Barker: A 28-year-old woman called police to the 1000 block of Main St. at 6:16 p.m. to complain her neighbor’s dog was constantly barking. 

Outta gas: Deputies checked on a suspicious vehicle on the 2300 block of School St. in Whiting at 9:23 a.m. The motorist, a 27-year-old woman, ran out of gas and was on her way back.
