August 9

Loose dog: The humane society was called to Lindbergh Ave. and Rice St. at 12:07 a.m. when a caller reported a loose dog, a “small tan mix.”

Welfare check: Deputies were called to the 4000 block of County Hwy. Y in Custer for a man who was incoherent and sitting in a car for several hours.

Crash: Deputies responded to Torun Rd. and Hwy. 66 at 7:45 a.m. for a two-vehicle collision. No injuries were reported.

Fire alarm: P.J. Jacob’s Jr. High was evacuated at 8:46 a.m. when a fire alarm was activated. It was accidentally set off by construction in the building.

Homeless: Police were called to Days Inn and Suites, 159 Division St. North, at 9:08 a.m., when a caller reported several homeless people living in a “large teepee” on the east side of the building.

Almost: Police were called to the parking lot of JR Liquor, 484 Division St., at 11:05 a.m. when a 31-year-old male bicyclist reported that he was almost struck by a car.

Crash: Deputies were called to I-39 at mile marker 158 for a two-vehicle collision at 12:23 p.m. No injuries were reported.

Welfare: Deputies were asked to check on a 37-year-old man whose mother believed he was hallucinating on Old Highway 18 Rd. at 1:26 p.m.

Homeless: Police were called to Rose House, 1140 Clark St., at 3:27 p.m. when an employee reported a homeless man had been lying at the business’ front door for over two hours and she wanted him removed.

Jerk: A caller reported another motorist “driving in the middle of the road” on Hwy. 10 at mile marker 202 at 3:37 p.m.

Gunman: Police were called to the downtown square at 4:19 p.m. when a caller reported a 22-year-old man “pulled a gun on someone” in the parking lot of the Sunset Winery. No further details were included in the blotter.

Property crime: A 35-year-old woman called police to the 1800 block of Illinois Ave. at 4:43 a.m. to report that “three kids” damaged a wall in front of her home. No further details were included in the blotter.

Donut man: Deputies were called to the 200 block of Main St. in Rosholt at 6:52 p.m. when a caller reported a red Camero “doing donuts on Main St.” No further details were included in the blotter.

Drunk: Deputies responded to the 1800 block of Meadow St. at 7:31 p.m. when a caller reported an intoxicated man was shouting and angry. No further details were included in the blotter.

Suspicious: Police were called to Jefferson Elementary School, 1800 East Ave., at 10:05 p.m. when someone reported several teenagers on the playground throwing rocks across the street. The juveniles were told to move along.

Disturbance: Police responded to a disturbance involving two people who were drinking in front of Joe’s Bar, 831 Main St., at 10:31 p.m. No further details were included in the blotter.

Disturbance: Police responded to the 800 block of Second St. at 12:56 a.m. when a neighbor reported hearing someone screaming for help. No further details were included in the blotter.

Feline threats: A 43-year-old woman called police to the 900 block of Second St. at 1:35 a.m. to complain that a 57-year-old man threatened to take her cats. The man left on a bicycle. No further details were included in the blotter.

Passed out: Police responded to a report of a 27-year-old intoxicated man lying in the road near SPASH on the 300 block of Second St. North at 5:14 a.m. No further details were included in the blotter.

Attempted theft: A 49-year-old woman called police to the 300 block of Second St. North at 10:22 a.m. to report that someone road a bicycle into her backyard the night before and attempted to steal a 4×4. The suspect left the bicycle behind.

Theft: A tenant at Antique Up, 3256 Church St., called police at 10:26 a.m. to report that someone had broken into their storage unit and stolen something. No further details were included in the blotter.

Threats: Police responded to the jail, 1500 Strongs Ave., when an inmate reported being harassed at 4:01 p.m.

Threats: A 21-year-old woman called police at 7:04 p.m. to report threatening messages involving a package being left for a previous tenant at her home on the 700 block of Vincent Ct.

Trespasser: Police responded to Festival Foods, 1600 Academy Ave., when an employee reported a man with a blanket “appearing to set up camp” on the store grounds. The man was asked to move along.

August 11

Noise: A tenant at Berkshire Apartments, 1443 Water St., reported loud music coming from the parking lot at 12:34 a.m.

Suspicious: A 40-year-old man called police to Pfiffner Pioneer Park at 12:57 p.m. to report suspicious activity when he saw two women enter the bathroom together.

Fireworks: A 62-year-old woman called police to the 1100 block of Shaurette St. at 10:27 p.m. to report that a neighbor was shooting off fireworks. Officers were unable to locate the noise.

Wannabe car boosters: A 52-year-old man called law enforcement to Sunrise Ave. and Hillcrest Dr. at 11:20 to report that “six juvenile males and females” were going through the area attempting to enter vehicles. No further details were included in the blotter.
