Police blotters sent out by local law enforcement agencies are now far longer, with less than half of the information necessary to produce an informative blotter. Find out why by clicking here. 

September 12

Music: Police were called to a loud music complaint on the 600 block of Johns Dr. at 8:51 a.m. The tenant, a 37-year-old woman, complied when asked to turn it down.

Woah: Police were called to Ben Franklin Jr. High, 2000 Polk St., at 9:38 a.m. when a student reported that another student made an unwanted sexual advance toward them the night before. The report was sent to “the appropriate jurisdiction for follow-up,” whatever that means.

Theft: A homeless 27-year-old man called police at 11:51 a.m. to report that his friend’s bicycle was stolen from Mead Park.

Did she not pull over?: Police stopped a 39-year-old woman near Second St. North and Maria Dr. at 2:24 p.m. to educate her on “how to drive her vehicle while near an ambulance with activated emergency lights and sirens,” but no context was included in the blotter.

Quitter: Police were called to Noble Clinic, 2501 Main St., at 4:37 p.m., when a caller reported that a 45-year-old woman who quit had failed to return her keys. Officers made arrangements to have the keys returned.

Suspended: A 32-year-old woman was issued a written warning for operating while suspended near Michigan Ave. and Algoma St. at 7:01 p.m.

Lights: Police issued a written warning to a 19-year-old man for driving without headlights near Church and Heffron streets at 7:27 p.m.

Speed: Police cited a 20-year-old man for speeding at Church and Patch streets at 7:44 p.m., but no word on how fast he was driving.

Who knows: Police conducted a welfare check at Goerke Park at 8:07 p.m. but no details were included in the blotter.

Kids drinking at Goerke: Police issued citations to an unknown number of juveniles who were consuming alcohol at Goerke Park at 8:16 p.m. The kids were picked up by their parents. No additional details were included in the blotter.

Heartbreak: Police stopped to check on a woman who was crying at KASH Park at 8:33 p.m. The woman said she was upset because she had broken up with her boyfriend. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Rock lights: Police issued a warning to a 16-year-old boy for driving with rock (undercarriage) lights on, and unnecessary acceleration near Main St. and Wilshire Blvd. at 9:34 p.m.

Party: Police shut down a loud party on the 1600 block of College Ave. at 9:48 p.m. after complaints.

Who knows: Police arrested a 19-year-old man for bail-jumping from the 2700 block of Indiana Ave. at 10:23 p.m. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Bang bang: Several people contacted police from the 2100 block of Madison St. at 12:06 a.m. to report hearing “two loud bangs” in the area. Police found nothing suspicious in the area.

Back again: A known 31-year-old homeless man who was previously banned from the Maria Dr. Kwik Trip had returned. He reported that he was “on heroin and wanted to be taken to the hospital.” The man was transported by an ambulance.

Wrong-way: A 19-year-old man was issued a written warning for driving the wrong way near Centerpoint Dr. and Smith St. at 1:05 a.m.

Heat of the moment: Police were called to the 300 block of Frontenac Ave. at 1:15 a.m. when a caller reported that a man pulled a knife on his fiancée when he found out the woman was cheating on him.

Drunk: A 21-year-old man was arrested for first-offense OWI near Main St. and Michigan Ave. at 1:49 a.m. He was also cited for driving the wrong way on a one-way street and without headlights.

Back again: A known 31-year-old homeless man was cited for trespassing at the Maria Dr. Kwik Trip at 2:43 a.m.

Who knows: A 51-year-old woman reported a property crime on the 4200 block of Second St. at 7:48 a.m., but no details were included in the blotter.

Crash: A 42-year-old man was cited for driving the wrong way on a one-way street, and a 20-year-old woman was cited for following too closely after a two-vehicle collision near Clark and Chase streets at 8:13 a.m. Both vehicles were towed away by Johnson’s.

Sleeper: Police conducted a welfare check on a 44-year-old man who was sleeping in the grass at the Stevens Point YMCA, 1000 Division St., at 10:12 a.m. The man said he was just enjoying the sun until lunch was being served at the Salvation Army.

Trash: Police took a report of “homeless items left in the park” at Mead Park at 10:20 a.m.

Speeder: A 21-year-old man was cited for operating while suspended, speeding, and having an expired registration, near First St. and Bukolt Ave. at 10:55 a.m.

Homeless: Police were called to BP, 412 Division St., at 11:52 a.m., when an employee reported that a known 30-year-old man entered the store and kept asking people for money. The man was trespassed from the property.

Homeless: A known 31-year-old homeless man was trespassed from a property on the 300 block of Division St. at 12:34 p.m.

Homeless dispute: A 38-year-old man called police to Mead Park at 12:47 p.m. to complain that he was mad because a 30-year-old man was “leaving his stuff in the pavilion.” The two men agreed not to fight.

Bugged: Police issued a warning to a 20-year-old woman for littering from her car at Hwy. 10 and Elizabeth Ave. at 1:13 p.m. The woman told the office she was “throwing a large bug out the window with a napkin.”

Crash: Police were called to a two-vehicle collision at Division St. and Boyington Ave. at 1:46 p.m. No details were included in the blotter.

Suspicious: A 25-year-old woman called police to the 1300 block of College Ct. at 3:04 p.m. to report that she saw a suspicious vehicle driving away after he car alarm was triggered.

Speedracer: Police were called to Bukolt Park at 3:36 p.m. when someone reported a 48-year-old man was driving an RC car on the skate park features. He was advised to stop and be respectful.

Shut it down: Police were called to the 400 block of West St. at 7:59 p.m. when a caller complained about a loud band “playing on the roof of the house.” Police told the group to shut down the party, which they did.

Damn kids: While on patrol, an officer noticed a group of juveniles “running in circles, setting off various motion-sensing lights” in the parking lot of Community Thrift Store, 2124 Rice St., at 8:05 p.m. One kid tried to “flip a large tractor tire in the parking lot,” and the kids ran when they saw the squad. No further details were included in the blotter.

Speed: A 17-year-old boy was cited for speeding near Division and Jefferson streets at 8:20 p.m.

No temps: Police stopped a juvenile, whose age was redacted, for driving without rear lights near Michigan Ave. and Jersey St. at 8:37 p.m. The juvenile told officers that she thought she had her temp license, but it turns out she’d only applied for it and never actually gone to the DMV. She was issued a warning.

Underagers: While conducting bar checks, police found under individuals, ages 18-20, at Top Hat Bar, 1346 Third St., at 10:54 p.m. All four were cited for underage drinking.

Late-night burglary: Police were called to Sentry Insurance, 1421 Strongs Ave., at 11:25 p.m. when two juvenile boys, 16 and 17, were found to have entered the building. Both were cited for underage drinking, and both were charged with criminal trespass and burglary.

Noisy: A 24-year-old woman was warned to keep her music down after someone called police on the 3700 block of Doolittle Dr. at 11:38 p.m.

September 14

Drunk: Police on patrol observed an intoxicated female and checked on her welfare on the downtown square at 1:20 a.m. The woman declined any assistance.

Arrest: A 29-year-old woman was arrested on a bond violation from Main and Third streets at 2:41 a.m., but additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Oh boy: Police stopped a vehicle at Clayton Ave. and Atwell St. at 2:57 a.m. for no headlights. The driver was arrested for OWI first offense, and three others received underage drinking citations. According to the blotter, one person was also cited for having a fake ID, and “several open containers” of alcohol were located in the vehicle.

Beater: Police arrested a 29-year-old man on a probation warrant after a caller reported the man “beat up his girlfriend” on the 2700 block of Frontenac Ave. at 8:07 a.m.

Theft: Someone called police to McDonald’s, 127 Division St. North, at 9:19 a.m. when someone reported a known 31-year-old homeless man had stolen their bicycle. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Trespassers: A 35-year-old man called police to the 3200 block of Jefferson St. at 9:20 a.m. to report he had video of two unknown men walking on his property. No additional details were included in the blotter.

Not animal abuse: Police were called to Aldi, 5632 Hwy. 10 East, at 1:04 p.m. when a caller reported a dog had been left in an unrunning vehicle. It turned out the dog was safe, as the vehicle was running. It was a hybrid, so “it’s quiet,” the blotter said.

Something was stolen: Police were called to Guu’s on Main, 1140 Main St., at 1:18 p.m. when a caller reported something had been stolen. Whatever was stolen was later recovered, but all additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Speeder: A 53-year-old woman was cited for traveling 44 in a 25 mph zone near Main and Fremont streets at 1:33 p.m.

Some kind of disturbance: Police were called to the 700 block of John’s Dr. at 2:34 p.m. for a disturbance, and one person was arrested, but nearly all of the details were redacted from the blotter.

Bad mama: Police were called to the 400 block of Clayton Ave. at 5 p.m. when a concerned person reported that a child, whose age was redacted, was seen “sitting in the roadway.” Officers made contact with the mother and told her to “keep a better eye on her children.”

Disturbance: A 49-year-old woman was arrested on undisclosed charges following a disturbance on the 1000 block of First St. at 7:39 p.m.

Huh?: A 22-year-old man called police to the 600 block of Walker St. at 7:55 p.m. to complain that he’d purchased a gift card in order to “view a house.” No additional details were included in the blotter.

September 15

He got his wish: Police arrested a 39-year-old man from the Law Enforcement Center, 1500 Strongs Ave., at 1:36 a.m. when the man was repeatedly banging on the entry door, then flipped a picnic table outside of the jail, asking to be arrested because he had no place to sleep. The man was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
