Police & Sheriff calls, Sept. 28-30

Sept. 28

Troublemaker: Police arrested a 21-year-old man for criminal damage to property from the 2600 block of Stanley St. at 12:50 a.m.

Abuser: A 26-year-old man was arrested from the 2000 block of Madison St. on multiple charges including domestic abuse, criminal damage to property, theft, and resisting an officer at 7:30 a.m.

Threats: Police arrested a 52-year-old man on charges of disorderly conduct and battery or threats to a judge, prosecutor, or law enforcement officer.

Wrong Way: Deputies cited a 21-year-old woman for driving the wrong way on Main St. near the Division St. intersection at 3:38 a.m.

Assistance: Deputies located a 90-year-old woman wandering near Crueger and Conant streets at 8:48 a.m. They assisted her in returning home.

Fire: Deputies were called to assist for a hay fire on County Trunk C at 2:42 p.m. The fire reportedly ignited after a farmer’s pigs pushed a haybale against an electric fence. No structures were damaged.

Sept. 29

Public Drinker: A 21-year-old woman was cited for having an open intoxicant on the public right-of-way along the 1600 block of College Ave. at 10:43 p.m.

OWI: Deputies arrested a 39-year-old man for his second OWI offense near Grand Ave. and Marks Ln. at 12:43 a.m. The man was reportedly driving left of center, prompting a traffic stop.

OWI: A 35-year-old woman was arrested near Hwy. 10 and Oak Ln. at 1:30 a.m. for her third OWI. The woman was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hot Potatoes: Construction crews at Taft Ave. and Prairie Dr. reported unsafe drivers at 10:38 a.m., saying drivers of potato trucks were failing to stop and rolling through stop signs.

Assault: Deputies arrested a 26-year-old man for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend on the 1700 block of Spruce St. The man was reportedly coming down from a meth high.

Sept. 30

Battery: Police arrested a 60-year-old man suspected of domestic abuse and battery on the 2600 block of Indiana Ave. at 9:45 p.m.

Not So Neighborly: Deputies responded to the 500 block of Maple Bluff Rd. at 9:36 a.m. after a concerned woman reported a decapitated mouse left in her driveway. The woman told deputies she’d been having problems with her neighbors.
