Sept. 21

Crash: Deputies cited a 64-year-old man for passing in a no-passing zone after a two-vehicle crash at N. Second Dr. and Evergreen Dr. at 10:10 a.m.

Disturbance: Police were called to the 800 block of Union St. at 2:11 a.m. after a caller reported a disturbance there. Police arrested two men, 21 and 22, on a charge of disorderly conduct with damage to property or injury. The men were reportedly intoxicated and damaging items from the back of a friend’s truck.

Drunk Walker: Police arrested a 53-year-old man on a probation hold after finding him walking, intoxicated, along the 2400 block of Main St. at 6:23 p.m. The man was also cited with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Loud Party: Police were called to a loud party on the 1700 block of Clark St. after a caller reported loud music and noise at 11:02 p.m. Police cited an 18-year-old man for underage drinking.

Pot Stop: Police cited an 18-year-old woman for possession of marijuana, less than five grams, during a traffic stop on the 1800 block of Maria Dr. Three other 18-year-olds were also in the vehicle.

Violent Foster Kid: Deputies responded to the 700 block of County Trunk G South in Junction City after a 57-year-old woman called 911 to report her foster daughter choked her son at 10:10 p.m. The case was referred to a social worker.

Sept. 22

Attempted Sign Theft: Police responded to the intersection of Main and Second streets at 1:19 a.m. after a caller reported two men, 20 and 22, were attempting to steal a downtown sign. The 20-year-old was cited for attempted theft, underage drinking, resisting an officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bad Bail-jumper: Police arrested a 40-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man after a reported disturbance on the 1200 block of Wisconsin St. at 10:56 a.m. Police report the woman called to ask for her ex-boyfriend, who was under a no-contact order, to be removed from the home. The woman was arrested for damaging items belonging to the man.

Excessive Noise: Police cited a 23-year-old tenant of a home on the 1500 block of Wisconsin St. for permitting excessive noise at 4:53 p.m. Police report the man placed a sign reading “Honk for us and we drink” in the front yard, causing a number of complaints from neighbors.

Mailbox Fatality: A 73-year-old man called deputies at 7:17 a.m. to report a passing vehicle damaged his mailbox. Replacement value not currently known.

Noisy Car: Deputies gave a verbal warning for a defective muffler to a 23-year-old man during a traffic stop near Hwy. 54 and County Trunk R at 12:28 p.m.

Offensive Whislter: Someone called deputies at 12:56 p.m. after a 26-year-old man reportedly whistled at young girls on the 200 block of Sunrise Ave. The man told law enforcement he wouldn’t do it again.

Break-In: A caller reported suspicious people trying to break into a home on the 190 block of Mill St. in Amherst at 11:07 p.m. No suspects were present when deputies arrived.

Sept. 23

Drunk Driver: Deputies arrested a 21-year-old man for his first OWI offense near Hwy. 54 and Harding Ave. at 1:32 a.m.

Assault: Police took a report of a sex assault on the 200 block of Fourth Ave. at 1:12 a.m.

Wrong-Way and Drunk: Police arrested a 52-year-old woman for driving the wrong way down Clark St. at 10:34 p.m. The woman was also charged with her second OWI.

Sept. 24

Rude Awakening: Deputies were called for the 6900 block of Taft Rd. after a 63-year-old woman reported a tree fell on the camper she slept in. No injuries were reported.

Disorderly Duo: Police cited two people, a 27-year-old man, and a 28-year-old woman, for disorderly conduct on the 1600 block of Briggs St. at 12:18 p.m.

Trespassing: Police cited a 40-year-old man for trespassing on the property of another man, 40, on the 600 block of Washington Ave. at 10:54 p.m.
