September 20

Screamer: A caller reported to police at 8 a.m. that a northbound motorist in a black Dodge Hemi was “screaming at people and swerving in and out of traffic” near Church and Patch streets. No further details were included in the blotter.

Crash: Police were called to Hoover Rd. and Glacier Dr. at 8:29 a.m. for a traffic collision when a semi did a U-turn and hit a traffic sign just north of Glacier. No further details were included in the blotter.

Threats: A person came to the SPPD at 9:19 a.m. to report that he was assaulted at a tavern a few days prior and that he believed he was being threatened as a result. No further details were included in the blotter.

Roadkill: A caller reported a dead animal in the roadway at the intersection of Water and Williams streets at 9:26 a.m.

Oops: An employee at The Store gas station, 5601 Carrie Frost Dr., called police at 9:37 a.m. to report a gas drive-off. The motorist drove away with the gas pump still attached to the vehicle.

Shoplifter: Police were called to Festival Foods at 12:13 p.m. to report someone had shoplifted items from the store the day before.

Collision: Police responded to a three-vehicle collision at Franklin and Division streets at 12:29 p.m. No injuries were reported.

Welfare check: Police were called to Qdoba, 5347 Hwy. 10 East to check on a diner who appeared unable to care for herself.

Bad mama: A caller reported to police at 1:20 p.m. that an intoxicated woman was driving her special needs son to school. No further details were included in the blotter.

School issues: Police responded to Jefferson Elementary, 1800 East Ave., at 2:16 p.m. when an employee reported a student was being uncooperative. No further details were included in the blotter.

Man in black: A caller reported someone suspicious at Patch St. and Minnesota Ave. at 2:21 p.m. The man was “dressed in all black, black hat, black backpack, has a mask on, standing there with a bike.” No further details were included in the blotter.

Bike theft: A 22-year-old man called police at 2:16 p.m. to report someone had stolen his bike from the 2900 block of Fifth Ave. several days prior.

Scam: A 59-year-old woman called police at 3:03 p.m. to report she lost $5,000 at a Bitcoin ATM at Star Spangled Spirits, 5474 Hwy. 10 East.

Dumper: A 70-year-old man called police to the 1300 block of Sixth Ave. at 2:57 p.m. to report an 18-year-old man was illegally dumping items from a tan pick-up truck. No further details were included in the blotter.

Crash: Police responded to a two-vehicle collision at Church and Nebel streets at 4:57 p.m. No major injuries were reported.

Jerks: Police were notified at 7:01 p.m. that trucks were doing “burnouts” and stopping traffic in front of Shuda Funeral Home, 3200 Stanley St.

Party: Police were called to the 700 block of Isadore St. at 9:32 p.m. when a neighbor complained about a loud party and music.

Party, again: Police were called back to the 700 bloc of Isadore St. at 10:02 p.m. when a neighbor complained hearing “banging and a guitar” and that is sounded like a live band performing in the backyard. All was quiet when police arrived.

September 21

Fight: Police responded to a brawl in front of Cozy Kitch, 1338 Third St., at 12:50 a.m. Three people were arrested and one person was injured and transported to an area hospital.

Beer thief: Police were called to Kwik Trip, 3258 Church St., at 3:37 a.m. when an employee reported that a male, whose age was redacted from the blotter, stole a four-pack of beer and then left the store.

Crash: Police responded to a car-v-person crash at Division St. and Fourth Ave. at 6:35 a.m. No injuries were reported.

Beer theft, again: Police were called back to Kwik Trip, 3258 Church St., at 7:24 a.m. when a 19-year-old man was suspected of stealing beer. No further details were included in the blotter.

Domestic: Police responded to the 2600 block of Indiana Ave. at 8:41 when a woman reported that he sister was the victim of domestic violence.

Theft: A 33-year-old man called police to the downtown library, 1001 Main St., at 9:42 a.m. to report that someone had stolen his cell phone.

Drive-off: Police were called to BP, 4928 Main St., to report that a motorist pumped a little over $24 in gas and drove off without paying at 10:03 a.m.

Parking problems: A 55-year-old man called police to the 2500 block of Prairie St. at 6:51 p.m. to complain that he was having trouble backing into his driveway because cars were parked on both sides of his street.

Welfare check: A caller asked police to check on a group of young people drinking outside on the 2500 block of Clark St. to ensure they wouldn’t be driving.

Stuck: Police were called to Water and Park streets at 10:30 p.m. when a white Kia got stuck on the CN tracks. Police spoke with CN, and passersby helped push it off the tracks.

Part-tay: Police were called to the 1700 block of Clark St. at 10:54 p.m. when a caller reported a loud party. The partygoers were given warnings and pamphlets explaining city ordinances.

September 22

Busted: A man, whose age was not included in the blotter, was cited after police were called back to a home on the 1700 block of Clark St. at 12:34 a.m. for complaints of a loud party.

Icon-ic problems: Police were called to Icon, 956 Main St., at 2:21 a.m., when a 33-year-old man reported he had been assaulted by a bouncer at the bar.

Creepy: A 21-year-old man called police to KASH Park, 1201 West Whitney St., at 2:11 p.m. to report a “known child molester” was hanging around at the park. No further details were included in the blotter.

Overreaction: Police were called to the 2800 block of Minnesota Ave. at 5:55 p.m. when a caller reported that a known 28-year-old man had thrown his own bicycle through a back car window, smashing it.

Welfare check: A woman called police to the 1300 block of Main St. at 8:19 p.m. to report a man was walking in the middle of the road while eating pizza, creating a potential traffic hazard.

Trespasser: An employee at Cobblestone Hotel, 1117 Centerpoint Dr., called police at 10:24 p.m. to report that a homeless man was resting in the lobby, covered in a sheet, and refused to leave. He was taken to an area hospital for hip pain.
