October 24
Fraud: A 78-year-old man reported a case of fraud from the 3000 block of Main St. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.
Oh, please: Police were called to the downtown library at 10:19 a.m. by a 32-year-old man complaining about an argument between him and a 28-year-old woman about needing an address to complete some paperwork. The two were warned against yelling at each other across the street and told to avoid each other for the rest of the day.
Kid on the bridge: Police were called to the Black Bridge at 12:39 p.m. when someone spotted a juvenile near the train tracks. The child was warned to stay away, and their parent was contacted.
Threats: Police were called to a car dealership on the 3300 block of Main St. at 12:27 p.m. when a 74-year-old woman, who was in the process of buying a car, reported that a man she believed was involved in her husband’s death showed up in line behind her.
Damage: Police were called to St. Stephen’s Elementary on the 1300 block of Clark St. at 1:32 p.m. when an employee reported someone had damaged a school banner.
Homeless and drunk: Police conducted a welfare check on an intoxicated 58-year-old man at KASH Park at 2:24 p.m. The man said he was OK. Police told him to “pick up some trash that was around him and to sober up.”
Homeless and drunk: Police were called to conduct a welfare check on another man, age 59, who was “very intoxicated” at The Store gas station, 201 West Clark St. He was given a ride to Mead Park because he could not walk, but denied an ambulance.
Door-to-door disaster: Police were called to the 3000 block of Oak St. at 2:32 p.m. when a 24-year-old man reported that some door-to-door salespeople were “too aggressive in their sales tactics.” The blotter did not indicate what the people were peddling.
Odd place to surrender: Police were called to BP, 412 Division St., at 4:16 p.m., when a 58-year-old woman said she wanted to “turn herself in for drinking.”
Obnoxious: Police were called to Koerten Gallery, 2501 Church St., at 5:47 p.m. when a caller reported “teenagers were yelling and being obnoxious” outside the business. When officers arrived, the teens said they were waiting for laundry to be finished at the nearby laundromat.
Attention-seeking ex: Police were called to the 2700 block of Minnesota Ave. at 6:08 p.m. when someone reported “people with masks” running out of a woman’s residence. The woman found nothing out of place and suspected he ex had falsely reported the incident because she wasn’t returning his calls.
Who knows: A disturbance was reported on the 2500 block of Clark St., but all details, including the time of the call, were redacted from the blotter.
Snapping: A 51-year-old woman reported at 8 p.m. that she was receiving inappropriate messages from a person on Snapchat.
Super drunk: Police and medics responded to the 400 block of Third St. when a 54-year-old woman had too much to drink.

Street fight: Police responded to Icon, 956 Main St., at 1:59 a.m. for a street fight. One man, 27, was cited for disorderly conduct.
Threats: A 22-year-old called police to Brick Hause, 1343 Second St., at 2:24 a.m. to report that a group of individuals was threatening to beat him up, along with his friends.
Shoplifter: Police were called to Kwik Trip, 1600 Maria Dr., at 5:05 a.m., for a report of shoplifting. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.
Speeder: A 41-year-old man was cited for driving 44 in a 25 mph zone near Main St. and Illinois Ave. at 9:30 a.m.
Burglar: Police located a burglary suspect near Prentice St. North and Maria Dr. at 9:38 a.m. and placed him under arrest.
FTY: Police cited a 74-year-old man for failure to yield following a two-vehicle collision in the North Point Dr. roundabout at 12:38 p.m.
Withdrawal: Police responded to KASH Park at 2:08 p.m. for a 59-year-old man experiencing physical symptoms of alcohol withdrawal. He was transported for treatment by ambulance.
Trespasser: A known 87-year-old man previously banned from a property on the 1400 block of Water St. had returned at 2:37 p.m. He was warned not to come back.
Gas leak: Police and firefighters responded to Farmshed, 1220 Briggs Ct., at 6:33 p.m., for a report of a gas leak. It turned out to be an issue with the pilot light on a stove. The issue was corrected, and the building was aired out.
Trespasser: Police were called to the 1400 block of Water St. at 6:52 p.m. when a known 68-year-old man was in the vestibule trying to warm up. He was warned to move along.
Aren’t churches supposed to help?: Police were called to Holy Spirit Parish, 2151 Stanley St., at 7:48 p.m., when a known 87-year-old man was sleeping in the church after mass had ended and the building was locked up. The complainant, a 49-year-old man, did not want the offender to be trespassed; he just moved along.
Speeder: A 47-year-old man was cited for driving 48 in a 25 mph zone and for having an expired driver’s license near Division St. North and Academy Ave at 8:55 p.m. He was also issued a warning for driving without insurance.
Underage rager: Police were called to the 2300 block of College Ave. at 10:55 p.m. for reports of an underage party. One woman, 18, was cited.
October 26
Party: Police were called to the 2800 block of Soo Marie Ave. at 12:18 a.m. for a loud party with music that could be heard from the road. The tenant, a 22-year-old woman, was educated about the city’s noise ordinance and agreed to turn it down.
Shotcut: Police stopped a suspicious vehicle driving through Iverson Park after hours, at 2:14 a.m. The driver was merely cutting through the park to avoid road construction in Park Ridge.
Ditched by his bros: Police stopped to check on a 21-year-old man who was passed out in front of The Outfit, 804 Main St., at 2:50 a.m. after the man’s friends left him. After being awakened, the man got angry and attempted to hit a female officer. He ultimately called his mom for a ride home, talkin’ smack about cops while he waited.
Bad friend: Police were called to a bike-v-car crash at Church and Francis streets at 11:03 a.m. No injuries were reported, but the bicyclist said he had borrowed the bike from a friend.
Disturbance: Police were called to the 5700 block of Sandpiper Dr. at 11:31 a.m. when a mentally handicapped person caused a disturbance. The person was ultimately calmed down.
Burn: A 42-year-old woman was cited for illegal burning after he lit a pile of leaves in her backyard on the 3300 block of Prais St. at 2:08 p.m.
Burn, again: Police cited a 34-year-old woman for burning leaves on the 3100 block of Dans Dr. at 3:27 p.m.
Snapper: Police took a woman’s report of threats made against her daughter via Snapchat at 3:35 p.m.
Repeat offender: Police were called to the 1400 block of Water St. at 6:55 p.m. when a 68-year-old man who was previously banned from the property had returned. The man was issued one final warning before law enforcement action.
Domestic: A woman reported to police at 7:53 p.m. that she was being abused by her adult autistic son.
Burnout: Police responded to Iverson Park at 11:19 p.m. when a vehicle was observed doing burnouts in the park. The driver, a 19-year-old man, was cited for disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle and issued a warning for being in the park after hours.
October 27
Drunk crash: A 52-year-old woman was arrested for third-offense OWI after she crashed into a stoplight at Country Club Dr. and Main St. at 12:19 a.m.
Troublemaker: Police were called to Final Score, 908 Maria Dr., at 1:14 a.m., when a known 43-year-old man was causing a disturbance. The man was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Speeder: A 29-year-old man was cited for speeding in a school zone near River View Ave. and Water St. at 7:38 a.m. No word on how fast he was driving.
