Police & Sheriff calls, Nov. 16-20

Nov. 16

Drunk Driver: Police were called to Academy Ave. and Division St. North at 2:35 p.m. after a caller reported a single-vehicle crash. The driver, a 24-year-old man, was found intoxicated and then taken into custody.

Crash: Police cited a 17-year-old girl for inattentive driving after causing a two-vehicle crash near Main St. and Country Club Dr. at 5:22 p.m. No injuries were reported.

Crash: Police and deputies were on hand to assist with multiple crashes on I-39 near the County Hwy. HH ramp at 6:07 p.m. The crashes reported involved more than 20 people.

Nov. 17

Cracked: Police initiated a traffic stop for a motorist with a cracked windshield. During the stop, the officer located drug paraphernalia and cited the driver, a 26-year-old man, at 11:46 a.m.

Spurned Ex: Police were called to the 600 block of Union St. at 7:10 p.m. after a 33-year-old woman reported that her ex-boyfriend, 29, intentionally broke the driver’s side mirror of her 2016 Ford Explorer. The man was arrested on a charge of criminal damage to property.

Nov. 18

Downtown Stabbing: Police responded to the 900 block of Main St. for a reported stabbing. They interviewed about a dozen witnesses after the victim was taken to the hospital.

Nov. 19

Drinking While Driving: Deputies arrested a 34-year-old man following a two-vehicle crash near County Trunk B and Tower Rd. at 7:16 p.m. The man was charged with operating left of center, failure to keep his vehicle under control, operating after suspension, operating under the influence, third offense, and possession of open intoxicants in his vehicle.

Nov. 20

Naughty Driver: Police arrested a 41-year-old man at 1:35 a.m. on charges of OWI, speeding, deviating from his lane, and operating without insurance during a traffic stop at Hwy. 10 and Maple Bluff.

Heroin Overdose: Deputies assisted during a call for a possible heroin overdose on Post Office Alley in Rosholt at 5:25 p.m. The victim, a 23-year-old woman, was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Nosy Neighbors: A 24-year-old woman called deputies at 9:58 p.m. to say her neighbors on the 1500 block of Torun Rd. were “watching her”.
