Who invited them: Police responded to the 1000 block of Centerpoint Dr. at 2:36 a.m. when someone reported a disturbance between two men, ages 21 and 27. The men said they were attending a cousin’s bachelorette party and got into an argument after having too much to drink.
When ya gotta puke: Police stopped a vehicle near Clark and Division streets at 2:58 a.m. after seeing the passenger open the passenger-side door to vomit several times while the vehicle was in motion. The 20-year-old male driver was cited for having open intoxicants in the vehicle, and the 19-year-old vomiter was cited for underage drinking.
Drunken employee: An intoxicated 24-year-old woman called police to complain she’d been “kicked out” of her place of employment on the 900 block of Main St. at 3:24 a.m. She told officers she could make it home safely, but a short time later, she was found crying behind a dumpster. A coworker took her home.
Arrest: A 42-year-old man was arrested at 7 a.m. from the 600 block of Washington Ave. following a disturbance there. No additional details were included in the blotter.
Theft: A 56-year-old man called police to the 300 block of Soo Marie Ave. at 9:26 a.m. to report someone stole his Prince golf clubs from his unlocked vehicle.
Roommate issues: Police were called to the 200 block of Prentice St. North at 2:23 p.m. when a 24-year-old woman complained about a dispute over a television and $100.
Homeless junk: Police were called to Mead Park at 3:01 p.m. when someone reported abandoned property had been left in the park most of the day. It was disposed of.
Bad mama: A 21-year-old woman called police to report another motorist had three toddlers in their vehicle who were unbuckled, and one nearly fell out of the vehicle at 5:27 p.m. on the 3500 block of Stanley St. Officers couldn’t locate the vehicle.
Gunshots: Police were called to the 2900 block of Fifth Ave. at 7:34 p.m. when a caller reported hearing gunshots. Officers also heard the gunshots, but checked the area and found nobody in distress.
Homeless and squatting: Police were called to the former Dime and Dollar store, 3268 Church St., at 8:18 p.m. when someone reported a suspicious person sleeping in the empty store. Officers found nobody inside the store but planned to follow up with the building owner.
Death investigation: Police were called to assist on the scene of a death on the 2600 block of Indiana Ave. at 11:07 p.m. The decedent, a 47-year-old woman, was determined to have a long list of health issues, and the death was not considered suspicious.
June 8
Early anglers: Police responded to Bukolt Park at 3:29 a.m. when two men, both 33, had arrived to fish. The men were informed that the park was closed until 30 minutes before sunrise.
Homeless: Police found a 32-year-old homeless woman sleeping on the downtown Square at 7:19 a.m., who was using a city-owned electric plug to charge her phone. The woman was told she couldn’t sleep there and couldn’t use city-owned plugs to charge her phone. She was provided with assistance resources.
