Busted: City police arrested a known 28-year-old man on a probation violation from the 1000 block of Maple Bluff Rd. at 8:59 a.m.
Vagrancy: Police were called to a city-owned parking lot at 924 Arlington Pl. at 9:49 a.m. when someone reported homeless people living in an RV there and leaving a lot of garbage around.
Crash: One person was injured in a two-vehicle collision near Hwy. 10 East and I-39 at 10:45 a.m.
Kids: A 73-year-old man requested extra patrol on the 3000 block of Cleveland Ave. at 11:18 a.m. after repeated complaints about “kids on mini dirt bikes” riding around the area.
Homeless: An 87-year-old man called police to complain about homeless people and “loads and loads of garbage” on the 1500 block of Maria Dr. at 11:31 a.m. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.
More kids: A 67-year-old man called police to complain about “kids on dirt bikes/ATVs” on the 3300 block of Lindbergh Ave. at 1:37 p.m. The kids were gone when an officer arrived.
Back to the lot: Police were called back to the parking lot at 924 Arlington Pl. at 2:12 p.m. to cite an RV for facing the wrong direction in the parking stall, and again at 2:25 p.m. to dispose of abandoned property from the RV.
Purse snatcher: A 23-year-old woman called police to the 2500 block of Church St. at 2:38 p.m. to report her purse had been stolen.
Disorderly condiment: A 27-year-old woman called police to the 700 block of John’s Dr. at 4:29 p.m. to report that someone had poured ketchup “all over her vehicle” following a verbal argument. Another woman, also 27, admitted to the pouring. She was cited for disorderly conduct.
More kids: A 39-year-old man called police at 6:22 p.m. to report that there were kids playing near the train tracks on Wisconsin St. The responding officer was unable to locate any kids.
Could be a real problem: A 46-year-old man called police to the 1300 block of Franklin St. at 6:25 p.m. to report a .45 handgun he’d purchased online was reported delivered by UPS, but no package had been delivered to the man’s home.
Bear sighting: Police received a report of a bear sighting near West Pearl St. and West Wilson Ave. at 10 p.m. Officers were unable to locate the animal.
Help: Officers stopped to assist a 23-year-old woman who’d run out of gas near North Point Dr. and Prentice St. North at 10:45 p.m.

Homeless: Police stopped to check on a known homeless man in the old Shopko bus stop on Main St. at 1:01 a.m. The man was told to move along.
Abandoned: Police stopped to check on a vehicle parked near the Black Bridge at the end of Wisconsin St. at 1:42 a.m. The vehicle was empty and nobody was around.
Smackers: Police were called to Polito’s Pizza, 960 Main St., at 2:22 a.m. when someone reported at least two people inside the restaurant had “smacked” the stop sign at nearby Third and Main streets, knocking it down. One man admitted to “smacking” it, but said the sign was already down when they did so.
OW, oh my: A 25-year-old man was arrested for his third OWI near Jefferson and Division streets at 2:42 a.m. He was also charged with failure to install an interlock ignition device, conceal-carrying without his CCW license, and carrying a firearm while intoxicated.
Wannabe hobos: Police responded to the CN train crossing near Water and Park streets at 3:45 p.m. when CN workers reported seeing three men “messing around on the tracks.” The men ran when they saw the CN workers, and officers could not locate them.
Homeless sleeper: Police responded to Kwik Trip, 1600 Maria Dr., at 5:22 a.m, when an employee reported a homeless person sleeping behind the store. The person was gone when the officer arrived.
Return of the kids: Police were called to Lindbergh Ave. and Della St. at 1:07 p.m. when callers reported several young people riding mini-bikes, none of which were street-legal or registered, on roads and in the nearby park. Two of the mini-bikers were stopped and warned, and their parents were notified.
Huh: A 47-year-old man came to the police department at 3:41 p.m. to beg for gas money because he had to pick up someone in Plover. The man was referred to area resources for assistance.
Liar: Police responded to Mead Park at 7:38 p.m. to check on a 29-year-old man who had reportedly locked himself in the park bathroom for an hour. During the investigation, officers learned that the man had lied to them about his name, and he was arrested for having an open warrant.
Homeless: Police were called to Monroe St. and Wyatt Ave. at 9:44 p.m. when someone reported a known 63-year-old homeless man hanging around the area. The man was told to move along.
Minor trespass: Police were called to Taco Bell, 5400 Hwy. 10 East, at 9:36 p.m., when a staff member reported that three juveniles were eating in the parking lot, “messing around and leaving garbage all over.” The trio was warned and trespassed from the property. And yes, their parents were notified.
