Police & Sheriff calls, June 22-25

June 22

3:34 a.m., police were called to the 2500 block of Dixon St. after a caller reported a suspicious man in the parking lot for over an hour after a business there had been closed. Police discovered the man had an active warrant and attempted to take him into custody. The man tried to flee on a bicycle and after a “short fight” was taken under arrest.

11:23 a.m., police were called to a group home for juveniles on the 500 block of Fourth Ave. after an employee reported a nine-year-old boy there was causing a disturbance and damaging property.

11:07 a.m., a caller reported a hit and run of an attended vehicle near Church and Francis streets. The caller, a 17-year-old boy, was later located and a citation was sent via U.S. Mail.

11:25 a.m., a bank located on the 400 block of Clayton Ave. reported a 24-year-old woman was able to cash three checks that weren’t issued to her.

10:45 p.m., police cited a 17-year-old for possession of marijuana during a traffic stop on the 300 block of Second St.

June 23

2:54 p.m., a 33-year-old woman was cited for operating after suspension and driving without insurance following a traffic stop near Patch St. and Cleveland Ave.

8:52 p.m., a 24-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer. The man reportedly refused to cooperate during a traffic stop and attempted to flee near Sunset Blvd. and Patch St.

June 24

2:30 a.m., a 22-year-old woman called police from the 1300 block of Second St. to report she’d been assaulted by a 25-year-old woman known to her.

7:53 a.m., police arrested a 23-year-old man on the 1100 block of Main St. on an active warrant.

12 p.m., police arrested a 21-year-old man on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting an officer, bail-jumping and domestic abuse following an incident on the 2500 block of Fifth Ave.

June 25

11:51 a.m., a 37-year-old man was arrested on a charge of battery on the 1500 block of Strongs Ave.
