June 18

Homeless: Police assisted two homeless people, a 46-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, to get bus tickets to go back home to Arkansas at 8:01 a.m.

Fraud: A 70-year-old man called police to Carl D’s, 1232 Park St., at 10:53 a.m. to report a two-year-old case of fraud by a former employee.

Bizarre theft: Police were called to South Point Laundromat, 2501 Church St., at 11:39 a.m. when the building owner reported someone had stolen a table from the laundromat.

Invisible bicyclist: A 35-year-old woman called police to say a bicyclist came out of nowhere and struck her car near Division and Shaurette streets at 3:33 p.m.

Who knows: A disturbance was reported at Seramur Park at 5:08 p.m., but details were redacted from the blotter.

Not missing: Someone called police to the 2900 block of Lindergh Ave. at 5:12 p.m. to report a missing eight-year-old child. The child was quickly located, listening to music in the home’s basement.

Eviction: A 26-year-old man called police to the 800 block of Franklin St. at 5:54 p.m. to complain that his landlord was entering the property. He believed that landlords were not permitted to come to a property after 6 p.m. under state law. The landlord said she was working on evicting him.

Lover’s lane: Police found a couple, a 20-year-old man and a woman, age 19, in Iverson Park after hours at 11:20 p.m. They were moved along.

June 19

Vandals: Police were called to the 2800 block of Church St. at 12:28 a.m. when a 71-year-old woman reported that three juveniles vandalized her vehicle and then ran away. The youngsters were later located and cited, but no details on the vandalism were included in the blotter.

Whoa: Deputies were alerted to a motorist driving 100 miles an hour near mile marker 140 on I-39 near Plainfield at 12:30 a.m., but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Underage stuff: Deputies were called to Lower Whiting Park at 1:18 a.m. for suspicious activity. Two 16-year-old boys were found in the park. They were cited for possession of THC and tobacco vapes, and warned for breaking curfew and being in the park after hours. Their parents were also contacted.

Who knows: Police took a report of a property crime on the 2100 block of Rice St. at 2:10 a.m., but no details were included in the blotter.

We all know the cats started it: Deputies were called to the 1400 block of Torun Rd. at 5:39 a.m. for a domestic disturbance involving several people between the ages of 16 and 23. The verbal dispute was reportedly over relationship issues and cats.

Eviction: A 54-year-old woman called police to the 1300 block of Sixth Ave. at 7:53 a.m. when a 28-year-old woman became upset over being evicted.

Fled: Police stopped a bicyclist on the 1100 block of Main St. at 1:01 p.m. when they identified a known man with an active warrant. The man, 30, fled on foot, but he was quickly located hiding in some bushes near Guu’s.

More problems at Seramur: Police responded to Seramur Park at 4:25 p.m. when several juveniles were involved in a physical altercation. No one was injured, but two juveniles were trespassed from the park until September, and one was cited for disorderly conduct and battery.

Bad blood: A 49-year-old woman drove from Milwaukee to the 800 block of Smith St. to seek out her son, age 30, and ask why he’d cut her out of his life. The man called police at 5:56 p.m. and asked that his mother be trespassed from the property.

Violator: While on extra patrol near Mead Park, police observed a known 60-year-old man violating bond conditions. He was arrested and taken to jail.

June 20

Witches: A 71-year-old man called police to the 1600 block of West Pearl St. at 7:49 a.m. to report that his neighbors were “using witchcraft to make his nose bleed.” The man then told officers to leave when they arrived.

Honkers: A 33-year-old man called police to the 1300 block of Main St. at 11:33 a.m. to complain that cars were “honking horns when passing peaceful protestors” in the downtown.

Animal: Police were called to the 1800 block of Illinois Ave. at 3:14 p.m. when someone reported an injured possum under their deck. The resident was advised to contact a pest control company.

Seriously?: A 56-year-old woman called police to complain that while driving in the parking lot of Ross, 5601 Hwy. 10 East, at 8:05 p.m., two boys walked in front of her car. One waved at her, she honked in response, and the other boy yelled. That’s the extent of the call. However, police were called back to the lot at 8:17 p.m. when another person reported a 17-year-old boy doing burnouts. The boy was cited for operating while suspended, no having registration, not having insurance, disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle, and not wearing a seatbelt.

Gunshots: A 21-year-old woman called police to complain she thought she heard gunshots in the area of the 2300 block of Clark St. at 9:21 p.m.

Not strangling: Someone called police to Division St. and Maria Dr. at 11:23 p.m. to report a man had his hands around a woman’s neck. When officers arrived, they learned that both people were “very intoxicated” but had been hugging as they walked back to their hotel.

June 21

Slapper: A 47-year-old man called police to the 700 block of Johns Dr. at 12:32 p.m. to report that his 64-year-old male friend had slapped him in the face.

Lotsa homeless: Police responded to Frame Memorial Church, 1300 Main St., at 1:11 a.m. to speak with “many homeless people” and were “trying to help them out of their current situation.”

Romance scam: An 81-year-old man called police to the 100 block of Division St. North at 2:46 a.m. to report that his cash and credit cards had been taken by a woman he met online. No additional details were released in the blotter.

Burglary: Police arrested a 40-year-old man for breaking into a home he’d been banned from on the 1900 block of Water St. at 2:48 a.m.

Homeless: Police found a known 40-year-old homeless man “hitting trees with a stick and bathing in a river wearing a red robe” at KASH Park at 10:24 a.m. The man was advised to be “mindful” of other people using the park.

Who knows: Police were called to Clark and Division streets at 12:50 p.m. for something involving a man wanting paint cleaned up, but not enough details were included in the blotter to tell you what happened.

Dumpster divers: Someone called police to an apartment complex on the 2600 block of Indiana Ave. at 4:26 p.m. to complain about dumpster divers. The caller was told that dumpster diving wasn’t illegal and to take the issue up with their property manager.

More problems at Zenoff: A softball manager called police at 6:06 p.m. to complain that someone had vandalized multiple benches at Zenoff Park. He believes the group came from the nearby Moose Lodge. No additional details were included in the blotter.

Window fatality: Police were called to the former Perkins, 143 Division St. North, at 11:35 p.m. when someone reported that a person had thrown a rock through one of the windows, smashing it.

Homeless: A 48-year-old homeless man was found sleeping in front of the strip mall at 135 Division St. North at 11:58 p.m. The man was advised to move along.
