June 15

12:53 a.m., deputies were called to check on a man who was sleeping in his car at Lake Emily near Amherst. The man told law enforcement he was in town for the Energy Fair and would find somewhere to stay.

5:26 a.m., a caller near Main and Mill streets in Amherst requested extra patrol in the area after noting a suspicious man was driving around the area the past several mornings.

10:02 a.m., a 33-year-old woman called 911 to say she had concerns about her roommate on the 1700 block of Lincoln Ave.

10:39 a.m., police arrested a 36-year-old man on a probation violation from the 1000 block of Maple Bluff Rd.

10:52 a.m., a 43-year-old man called deputies to report he was being harassed by his ex-wife near Hwy. 66 and County Tk. A in Rosholt. The man was advised to apply for a restraining order.

12:42 p.m., deputies were called to the 2500 block of School St. in Whiting after a caller reported teenage girls were driving a golf cart in the roadway.

1:18 p.m., police responded to a disorderly conduct incident on the 2600 block of Dixon St.

2:17 p.m., police arrested a 23-year-old man on charges of domestic abuse, battery, strangulation/suffocation, disorderly conduct and bail-jumping following an incident on the 800 block of Wisconsin St.

3:04 p.m., a 25-year-old man was cited for failure to yield after a two-vehicle crash near Hwy. 10 and Maple Bluff Rd.

7:56 p.m., deputies were called to a home in Junction City to assist with a reported sexual assault.

8:59 p.m., police cited a 20-year-old woman for operating without insurance and driving too fast for conditions near Church and Williams streets.

8:46 p.m., a 35-year-old man was arrested for possession of THC, second offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia, after a traffic stop on the 3400 block of Church St.

8:25 p.m., a 25-year-old woman called 911 to express concern about lightning striking near her home on the 2600 block of Indiana Ave.

11 p.m., a 36-year-old man called city police to report he’d been threatened by a 26-year-old man via Snapchat.

June 16

6:13 a.m., deputies were called to a home on the 5400 block of Oakwood Ave. after a woman there reported her naked man was passed out on the floor of the home. The woman and her children left the home.

12:45 p.m., a 24-year-old woman called city police to report her purse had been taken from a playground on the 1900 block of Wyatt Ave.

1:51 p.m., police responded to a fight between two men on the 1200 block of Fourth Ave.

3:02 p.m., someone called deputies to report a male on the 5400 block of Oriole Ln. in Stevens Point had requested nude pictures of an underage girl.

8:19 p.m., a 51-year-old man called deputies to report a suspicious man was selling meat products from a white van on the 8400 block of Hwy. 161 in Amherst Junction.

10:02 p.m., a 26-year-old man was arrested for his first OWI near Lincoln and Wyatt avenues.

June 17

12:41 a.m., deputies were called to the boat landing at Lake Emily after someone reported several teens, ages 18 and 19, were talking loudly. The girls were told to move on.

2:42 a.m., a Stevens Point man, 29, was arrested on a probation violation after being charged with felon in possession of a firearm from Portage and Third streets.

8:12 a.m., a 26-year-old woman called police to report someone had damaged the mailbox at her property on the 1200 block of Park St.

9:45 a.m., a 24-year-old man was arrested for possession of drugs after being brought to the Stevens Point Police Dept. by a third party.

4:22 p.m., a caller reported to deputies a car-v-bear accident on the 2700 block of Hwy. 66 in Rosholt. A passerby reportedly took the bear and the Dept. of Natural Resources was notified.
