Police & Sheriff calls, June 13-15

June 13
Who knows: Police were called to the 200 block of Minnesota Ave. at 9:24 a.m. for a “suspicious” matter involving a 21-year-old woman and a man, age 28. All additional details about the call were redacted from the blotter.
Dog-onit: Police were called to assist with a civil matter involving a found dog on the 100 block of Forest St. North at 11:49 a.m.
Crash: Police responded to Main St. and Green Ave. at 11:54 a.m. for a two-vehicle collision. At least one person was injured, but no additional details were included in the blotter.
Crash: A two-vehicle collision was reported in the parking lot of Burger King, 5431 Hwy. 10 East, at 2:29 p.m. No additional details were included in the blotter.
Bad patient: Police were called to Aspirus Stevens Point, 900 Illinois Ave., at 2:54 p.m. to assist with a disruptive patient. No additional details were included in the blotter.
Hit and run: Police were called to Hwy. 10 East and Wildwood Dr. at 3:12 p.m. when a caller reported a hit and run, but no details were included in the blotter.
Suspicious: Police were called to check a home on the 1300 block of College Ct. at 3:11 p.m. when a resident came home to find the door open. Nothing suspicious was found.
Threats: A woman called police to the 800 block of Second St. at 5:50 p.m. to report someone she’d filed a restraining order against had shown up at her home. The offender was trespassed from the property.
Not without my booze: Police and paramedics were called to the Pfiffner Pioneer Park band shell at 6:29 p.m. when a man there said he needed medical attention. The man ultimately declined an ambulance ride to the hospital because he refused to relinquish his alcohol.
Disturbance: Police were called to the 900 block of Michigan Ave. at 7:11 p.m. for a domestic disturbance. Both parties were counseled.
Disruptive: Police responded to Aspirus Stevens Point again at 10:28 p.m. when staff reported a disruptive patient.
June 14
Bugs: A man called police to report that someone “might have hit him in the face” while he was getting away from the biting insects present on the 900 block of Shaurette St. at 1:51 a.m.
Bad parker: Police ticketed and towed one vehicle from the downtown square to accommodate the farmers market at 3:45 a.m.
Homeless: Police stopped to check on two people sleeping in an alley on the 1000 block of Main St. at 7:47 a.m. The people, a 19-year-old woman and a man, age 33, were told to move along.
Speeder: A 58-year-old woman was issued a written warning for speeding near Church and Patch streets at 8:36 a.m.
Bad landlord: A 29-year-old woman called police to report that a next-door landlord on the 2200 block of Clark St. has “thrown lawn waste into their yard.”
Egging: Police were called to the 2300 block of Clark St. at 11:05 a.m. when a caller reported their home had been egged, likely by their son’s former friends. The homeowner requested additional patrols in the area.
Fraud: Police were called to Pineries Bank, 2601 Main St., at 12:04 p.m. when a caller reported that a downtown bank had a counterfeit $10 bill in their bank drop.
Speeder: An 18-year-old man was cited for speeding near Church and Heffron streets at 2:43 p.m.
Gunshots: A 63-year-old woman called police to Maple Bluff Rd. and Woodland Cir. at 8:54 p.m. to report having heard gunshots in the area. Police were unable to locate anything suspicious.
Not threats: A 63-year-old man called police to the 1700 block of Oak St. at 10:14 p.m. to report a threat he saw on social media involving minors. Police found nothing threatening or illegal about the posts.
Wrong-way: Police cited a 20-year-old man for driving the wrong way near Water and West Clark streets at 10:43 p.m.
Busted: A 23-year-old man was arrested for felony bail jumping during a traffic stop for having a suspended registration in Lot P on the UWSP campus at 11:43 p.m.
June 15
No license: A 25-year-old man was cited for operating without a license at Clark and Church streets at 2:12 a.m.
Yard butcher: A 61-year-old man called police to the 700 block of Sixth Ave. at 8:12 a.m. to report someone had cut down trees and brush in his yard.
Speedracer: A 17-year-old girl was cited for driving 76 mph in a 45 mph zone near West River Dr. and River View Ave. at 8:39 a.m.
Another speeder: Police cited a 24-year-old woman near West River Dr. and River View Ave. for driving 68 pmh in a 45 pmg zone at 8:57 a.m.
Whatta pothole: Police were called to Kwik Trip, 5311 Old Highway 18 Rd., at 9:09 a.m. when a 54-year-old man reported hitting a pothole in the street, damaging his vehicle. The officer noted fresh damage on the rim, and it appeared the vehicle was no longer functional.
Smooth like butta: A 32-year-old woman called police to the downtown square at 9:26 a.m. to request assistance in unlocking her vehicle. When an officer arrived, they found the woman “highly intoxicated” and attempting to open her vehicle with a plastic butter knife. Officers found the woman a safe ride home.
Splinter strikes again: A caller reported to police seeing a snapping turtle on its back in the middle of the road on I-39 between Stanley St. and Hwy. 10 East. When the officer found the turtle, it was already dead. They placed the turtle out of the flow of traffic, in a ditch on the side of the road.
Sleeper: Police received a call about a homeless person sleeping at the bandshell. The caller said nothing illegal was happening and was concerned about the person.
Go away: Police were called to the 400 block of Sixth Ave. at 1:55 p.m. when a neighbor reported a loud disturbance. When officers arrived, the parties inside refused to cooperate but stated that there was no problem.
No gun: Police were called to Seramur Park, 1401 East Ave., at 7:03 p.m. when a caller reported someone in the park had a gun. Upon arrival, officers found no evidence of that, and could not find anyone at the park who witnessed anyone with a gun.
Hobby Lobby ruckus: Police were called to Hobby Lobby, 5687 Hwy. 10 East, at 9:32 p.m. when a caller reported a “group of kids causing a ruckus” behind the building. Offiicers found a golf cart with the offending occupants at a nearby McDonald’s, and the kids were warned.
