Police & Sheriff calls, June 1-4

June 1

7:25 a.m., deputies assisted a male pedestrian, 33, who was found walking along County Trunk Y. The man told law enforcement he’d just been fired, and they offered him a ride home.

9:03 a.m., a city police officer cited a student for habitual truancy on the 2400 block of Main St.

6:17 p.m., a 34-year-old man called deputies from the 2400 block of Sunset Dr. to report money and a gun had been stolen from his home. Further details were not immediately available.

7:23 p.m., deputies were called to the 1100 block of County Trunk DB after a caller reported a 41-year-old man on a motorcycle crashed into a pontoon, then fled the scene. No further details were immediately available.

7:33 p.m., a 23-year-old man was cited for operating after suspension at Dixon and Reserve streets.

12 p.m., police arrested a 35-year-old man for criminal damage to property after allegedly breaking in two apartment doors on the 1100 block of Main St.

June 2

12:52 a.m., police arrested a 32-year-old man for bail-jumping near First St. and Fourth Ave.

7:58 p.m., police arrested a 25-year-old man for OWI and possession of THC after a traffic stop for a cracked windshield on the 700 block of Second St. North.

6:47 p.m., police and fire crews responded to the 5200 block of Monroe Ave. where an electric pole and wire caught fire.

June 3

2:58 a.m., a 38-year-old man was arrested for lewd/lascivious behavior after he reportedly exposed himself to a woman on the 1100 block of Center Point Dr.

June 4

7:35 a.m., deputies took a complaint of a 20-year-old man on the 100 block of Mill Rd. who said he was “upset” with his father.

7:11 p.m., police responded to a report of threatening Facebook messages on the 100 block of Bukolt Ave.

7:13 p.m., Portage Co. deputies arrived at the intersection of River View Ave. and Hwy. 66 after a caller reported a suspicious car parked on the side of the road. The driver, a 23-year-old man, told deputies he pulled over to nap.
