January 12

Not suspicious: Police were called to the 1700 block of Church St. at 3:02 a.m. when someone reported suspicious activity. It turned out to be a vision-impaired man who was trying to navigate his way home. Officers gave him a ride.

Trespasser: An employee at Kwik Trip, 3258 Church St., called police to report a known male, age 63, who was previously banned from the property, had returned. Officers escorted him from the property.

Trespasser: Police were called to the 400 block of Division St. at 7:38 a.m. when someone reported a trespasser on the property. The offender, a known 30-year-old man, was moved along.

Crash: Police responded to a two-vehicle collision involving teens in front of SPASH, 1201 North Point Dr., at 8:46 a.m.

Day drinkin’: A caller reported to police at 10:38 a.m. that someone was drinking alcohol at the bus stop at Main St. and Strongs Ave. The offender was gone when an officer arrived.

Loitering problems: Police were called to 135 Division St. North at 11:25 when someone reported trespassing. It turned into a “loitering investigation,” but all other details were redacted from the blotter.

Junk haul: Police were called to West Clark and West Whitney streets at 12:21 p.m. for a “large amount of abandoned property” left in the area. No additional information was included in the blotter.

Verbal: Police were called to the 2100 block of Texas Ave. at 1:03 p.m. when two roommates got into a verbal altercation. The two people were separated for the day.

Car v building: Police responded when an elderly woman accidentally crashed into the Portage County Health Care Center, 825 Whiting Ave., at 1:47 p.m. No damage was reported.

Busted: Police located a 55-year-old man with an open warrant at Pfiffner Pioneer Park and arrested him at 3:52 p.m.

Theft: Police were called to Ross Dress for Less at 6:54 p.m. when a caller found stolen merchandise in the roadway. The items were returned to the store.

Welfare check: Police responded to the railroad tracks near West Clark St. and West River Dr. at 5:11 a.m. to conduct a welfare check on a 69-year-old man. No additional details were included in the blotter.
