January 8

Theft: Police took a walk-in report of a theft at 9:23 a.m. No additional details were included in the blotter.

Crash: Police were called to a two-vehicle collision on the 1400 block of Torun Rd. at 10:37 a.m. No injuries were reported.

Fraud: A 78-year-old man called police to the 2200 block of Dixon St. at 11:29 a.m. to report suspicious activity on his bank account.

Assistance: Officers stopped to assist a motorist whose power steering went out mid-turn near I-39 and County Hwy. HH at 1:26 p.m.

Threats: A 61-year-old woman called police to report that a neighbor was attempting to have caregivers give a patient pain medication against his will. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Go play elsewhere: Police were called to check on suspicious activity at Holiday Inn, 1001 Amber Ave., at 2:11 p.m. They found a man, 64, who told them that he “sits here all day playing poker” and had permission from corporate to do so. He also told staff that he was a private investigator as he walked around with a towel draped across his lower extremities. The man was told to move along.

Threats: A 23-year-old woman called police to the 600 block of John’s Dr. at 5:49 p.m. to report she was being threatened on social media.

Fraud: A 78-year-old woman called police to the 800 block of Michigan Ave. at 8:04 p.m. to report after giving her debit card number over the phone to someone to said they would fix her computer, she’d been defrauded.

Disturbance: Police responded to a nursing home on the 2200 block of Eagle Summit at 9:27 p.m. when a 78-year-old man became combative and struck a 16-year-old girl in the arm.

January 9

Drinkin’ in the drive-thru: Police were called to Taco Bell, 5400 Hwy. 10 East, at 12:25 a.m. when a caller observed open alcohol containers in a customer’s vehicle. No additional information was included in the blotter.

Welfare check: Police were called to Day’s Inn, 159 Division St. North, at 1:10 a.m. when a caller reported a known 40-year-old man was yelling and arguing with himself. No additional information was included in the blotter.

Fraud: A 70-year-old woman called police to the 300 block of Second St. at 9:48 a.m. to report that someone used her identity to lease a set of tires and rims. No additional details were included in the blotter.

OWI: Police arrested a 37-year-old man for operating while intoxicated on I-39 near mile marker 160 at 4:38 p.m.

Disturbance: Police were called to the 400 block of West St. North at 7:12 p.m. for a reported disturbance involving a 59-year-old woman and a man, aged 55. The man agreed to leave for the night and “ride his bike around town.”

Repo: Police responded to the 1200 block of North Point Dr. for a disturbance between a 32-year-old man and a repo driver, a man aged 46. Police determined the repo man had all the correct paperwork and allowed him to take the vehicle.
