February 7

School issues: Police conducted an investigation after an “incident” occurred between juveniles on a school bus that arrived at SPASH, 1201 North Point Dr., at 10:50 a.m.

Hit & run: A 24-year-old reported a hit & run on the 1600 block of Brawley St. at 11:25 a.m.

Fraud: An 80-year-old man called police to the 1100 block of Brawley St. at 12:15 p.m. to report he’d received a suspicious letter in the mail indicating he was in debt. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Porch pirate: A 38-year-old woman called police to the 200 block of Prentice St. North at 2:14 p.m. to report a package she’d sent to her son was stolen.

Blowing a stop sign: A 49-year-old man was issued a warning for failure to stop at a stop sign and improper display of registration at Minnesota Ave. and Fifth Ave. at 3:23 p.m.

Busted: Police arrested a 72-year-old man on an open warrant while he was visiting his probation officer on the 1000 block of Maple Bluff Dr. at 3:39 p.m.

Fight: Police were called to the 2600 block of Indiana Ave. at 4:10 p.m. for a physical disturbance involving a 21-year-old woman and a man, age 19. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Near-miss: Police stopped a 28-year-old man driving a van near Church and Rice streets at 4:55 p.m. when a caller complained he had nearly struck someone while driving. The man denied it.

Crash: Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on the 2900 block of College Ave. at 5:45 p.m. No injuries were reported.

Who knows: Police cited a 52-year-old woman near Patch St. and Bush Ct. at 7:09 p.m. for reasons that were not included in the blotter.

Theft: Police were notified at 8:01 p.m. that a juvenile reported his AirPods were stolen at the school. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Pot, maybe: Police stopped a 20-year-old man for driving without lights near Fremont St. and Fourth Ave. at 8:27 p.m. During the stop, the officer observed the scent of unburnt marijuana. The driver handed over something containing THC that he claimed to have purchased from a local smoke shop. The item was unlabeled but confiscated by police for destruction.

February 8

‘Pomp’ and circumstance: Police stopped to check on a suspicious man in front of Pomp’s Tire Service, at 12:52 a.m. The man was “messing with the cigarette ash tower” and told police he was “getting cigarette butts.” The 46-year-old man was told the move along.

Wrong way: A 21-year-old man was cited for driving the wrong way near Third and Main streets at 1:38 a.m.

Drunk: Police were asked to check on two intoxicated women near Brick Hause, 1343 Second St., at 2:18 a.m. The women were told to arrange for a safe ride home.

Sleeper: Police stopped to check on a motorist who was sleeping behind the wheel in the roadway near Michigan Ave. and Rice St. at 2:56 a.m. The man, a 27-year-old Lyft driver, told officers he thought he’d pulled over on a side road.

Stolen phone: An intoxicated 20-year-old woman reported to police at 3:36 a.m. that someone had stolen her phone from the 2300 block of College Ave.

Violator: Police were called to the 2000 block of Texas Ave. at 5:54 a.m. when a 47-year-old man reported that another person, a 44-year-old woman, had violated a restraining order by visiting him. The woman was arrested.

Disturbance, we think: Police were called to the 1400 block of Torun Rd. at 6:11 a.m. when a caller reported some kind of disturbance. A 26-year-old man was arrested but all additional information was redacted from the blotter.

Unsafe backing: A 27-year-old man was cited for unsafe backing following a two-vehicle collision near Hwy. 10 East and Brilowski Rd. No injuries were reported.

Yellers: Police responded to the 1100 block of North Point Dr. at 8:55 a.m. when someone reported loud arguing from one of the apartments. The apartment’s tenants were involved in an ongoing neighbor dispute with the caller.

Major theft: Two people were arrested following a tailor and tool theft valued at over $23,000 from the 2300 block of Prairie St. at 9:11 a.m. A 44-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were arrested.

Crash: Police were called to a three-vehicle collision at County Hwy. HH and Crossroads Dr. at 2:15 p.m. No injuries were reported.

Nonstopper: A 20-year-old man was issued a verbal warning for failure to stop at a stop sign at Isadore St. and Portage St. at 4:39 p.m.

Homeless drama: Police responded to the former Shopko parking lot, 1200 Main St., at 6:22 p.m., for “ongoing homeless drama” occurring when a 44-year-old woman attempted to help two homeless people.

Problematic eviction: A 35-year-old woman called police to the 2200 block of Madison St. at 7:48 to report a 44-year-old man who’d been evicted from the residence was refusing to leave. Police told her it was a civil matter.

Too dark: A 21-year-old man was issued a written warning for operating without headlights near Hwy. 10 East and Brilowski Rd. at 9:21 p.m.

Drunk: A 50-year-old man was given a ride home because he was too drunk to drive from Kim’s Barrel Inn, 1001 Second St., at 9:31 p.m.

Lights, man: Police issued a written warning to a 22-year-old man for driving without headlights at Main and Fremont streets at 10:26 p.m.

February 9

Drunk and loud: Police were called to the 3200 block of Whiting Ave. at 12:05 a.m. when a caller reported a loud and intoxicated 37-year-old woman was yelling after being kicked out of her residence and having her personal items thrown in the yard. The woman was advised to return in the morning to retrieve the rest of her belongings.

Possible squatters: A 21-year-old woman called police to the 700 block of Isadore St. at 1:02 a.m. to say she’d been hearing voices from the basement and believed there were squatters living there. Police found the basement door locked and suggested that the woman reach out to her landlord.

Known problem: Police were called to the downtown library at 1001 Main St. at 7:35 a.m. when an employee reported a known 53-year-old woman was sitting on the sidewalk and refused to move. Officers moved the woman along and she was told to not return for the rest of the day.

Squatters, again: Police were called back to the 700 block of Isadore St. at 11:18 a.m. when someone reported a squatter living in the basement. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Confusing redaction: A 36-year-old man was stopped for having an expired registration near Wilshire Blvd. and Pinecrest Ave. at 11:45 a.m. He was cited for criminal operating after revocation. Many other details pertaining to the stop were redacted from the blotter.

Squatter investigation: Police responded back to the 700 block of Isadore to investigate squatters living in the basement, but the entirety of the call was redacted from the blotter.

Bandshell threats: A 40-year-old man called police to the Pfiffner bandshell at 8:22 p.m. to report that someone was making threats. No additional details were included in the blotter.

February 10

Some kind of disturbance: Police arrested a 35-year-old man following some type of disturbance at the downtown Square at 1:45 a.m. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Trespasser: A known 53-year-old woman was arrested for trespassing at the downtown library at 10:01 a.m.

Who knows: A 20-year-old man was arrested for reasons unknown from the 2200 block of Main St. at 10:10 a.m.

Not a shooter: A 35-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct from the 5400 block of Vern Holmes Dt. at 11:17 a.m. after witnesses said he “acted as though he was shooting multiple patients” and then attempted to gain access to a secure area.

Arrested over a Big Mac: Police arrested a 33-year-old man with an open warrant from McDonald’s, 1205 Commons Cir., at 12:10 p.m. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Arrest: Police arrested a 42-year-old man with an active felony warrant from the 500 block of Washington Ave. at 4:06 p.m.

Suspicious: A caller asked officers to check on a person potentially living in an alcove near Main and Third streets at 10:04 p.m. Officers checked the area and only found a pile of blankets.

Oops: A 35-year-old woman called police to the Boys & Girls Club, 941 Michigan Ave., at 11:51 p.m. when a cleaning woman reported accidentally locked herself out of the building when she took out the garbage. She was let back into the building.
