Police & Sheriff calls, Jan. 27-28

Police blotters sent out by local law enforcement agencies are now far longer with less than half of the information necessary to produce an informative blotter. Find out why by clicking here. 

January 27

Nonstopper: A 60-year-old man was issued a warning for running a red light at Fremont and Main streets at 9:02 a.m.

Crash: Police responded to a crash at I-39 and Hwy. 10 East at 9:51 a.m. but no details were included in the blotter.

Crash: A 55-year-old woman reported a crash at Tommy’s Express Car Wash, 117 Division St. North, at 11:13 a.m., but no details were included in the blotter.

Nasty mouth: Police were called to Marshfield Clinic, 4100 Hwy. 66, at 11:49 a.m., when an employee reported a male patient, whose age was redacted from the blotter, began to swear at staff while receiving care. The person was asked to leave but refused. All additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Another nasty mouth: Police were called to Aspirus Stevens Point, 900 Illinois Ave., at 1:51 p.m. when an employee complained about a male patient swearing at staff and refusing to leave. His age and all other details were redacted from the blotter.

Harasser: A 64-year-old woman called police to the 1400 block of Torun Rd. at 3:28 p.m. to complain that she was receiving threatening messages from a 56-year-old woman about a theft the complainant’s son was involved in. The offending caller was warned to leave the woman alone.

Kids: Police were asked to check on someone walking along West River Dr. at 3:35 p.m. Officers determined it involved a verbal parent-child disagreement and no one was in any danger.

Car v deer: A 52-year-old woman called police to report she’d struck a deer while driving near Echo Dells Ave. and River View Ave. at 5:22 p.m.

So busted: Police arrived at Papa Joe’s, 233 Division St., at 6:14 p.m. when they were alerted that an offender on an ankle bracelet was inside the bar, which was a violation of his probation. The offender, a 35-year-old man, was taken under arrest.

Who knows: Police responded to the 2900 block of College Ave. at 7:29 p.m. for reasons that were entirely redacted from the blotter.

Not a flasher: A 32-year-old man called police to the 500 block of West Harding Ave. at 7:39 p.m. to complain that a neighborhood walker had flashed their flashlight at him. Officers located the walker, whose age and gender were redacted from the blotter, who said they regularly walked through the neighborhood in the early evening and always carried a flashlight, and if they did flash the caller it was accidental.

Another redaction: Police responded to the 1300 block of Michigan Ave. at 9:49 p.m. when a 31-year-old woman reported a disturbance. All details about the nature of the call were redacted from the blotter.

January 28

Too drunk: Police were called to Final Score, 908 Maria Dr., at 1:04 a.m. to conduct a welfare check on a 28-year-old woman who had too much to drink. The woman was given a ride to the Days Inn hotel.

Suspicious: Police were asked to check on suspicious activity at Sckmeeckle Reserve, 2100 Maria Dr., at 1:44 a.m. No details were included in the blotter.

Crash with injury: Police and paramedics responded to North Point Dr. and Wilshire Blvd. North at 2:23 a.m. for a crash with injury. No details were included in the blotter.
