Police & Sheriff Calls, Jan. 26-29

Jan. 26

Wrong House: Police arrested a 22-year-old intoxicated man who reportedly attempted to gain entry to into multiple homes on the 1500 block of Strongs Ave. at 2:58 AM. The man reportedly caused damage in the process, and was jailed.

Failure to Yield: Police cited a 53-year-old man for failure to yield follow a two-vehicle crash at Clark and Third streets at 8:56 AM.

Theft: A 33-year-old woman called police at 9:37 AM to report a theft from her John’s Dr. home. No further information was immediately available.

Violent Student: Police were called to a school on the 1800 block of East Ave. after a caller reported a minor child there became violent, destroyed a classroom and injured a teacher at 11:46 AM. No further information was released.

Bail-jumper: A 57-year-old man was arrested on a charge of bail-jumping from the Portage Co. Library at 1:27 PM.

Crash: Police cited a 29-year-old man for failure to keep his vehicle under control following a two-vehicle crash at Division St. and Maria Dr. at 2:59 PM. No injuries were reported. 

Harassing Ex: A 66-year-old woman reported to police at 2:43 PM that her ex-husband wouldn’t leave her alone. The woman requested extra patrol near her home.

Back Off, Man: Police cited a 21-year-old man for following too closely after causing a three-vehicle accident near Hwy. 10 and Brilowski Rd. at 4:56 PM. No injuries were reported. 

Assault: Police responded to a reported assault/robbery on the 5000 block of Kennedy Dr. in Plover at 11:17 PM. 

Jan. 28

Possible Overdose: Police and EMS were called to a home on the 1500 block of County Trunk HH West at 12:24 after a caller reported a 37-year-old woman became unresponsive from a mix of narcotic medication and alcohol. The woman was later roused by deputies.

Jan. 29

Underage Bust: An 18-year-old man was cited for his first offense of underage drinking on the 4200 block of Main St. at 10:30 PM.

Cat Fight: Police were called to break up a fight between two women, aged 26 and 24, on the 1300 block of Second St. at 1:53 AM. It wasn’t immediately known if either was arrested.

Caught: A 31-year-old man was arrested on two open warrants and a probation violation following a traffic stop on the 300 block of Division St. at 2:43 AM.
