Police & Sheriff calls, Jan. 24-27

January 24

Crash: A 39-year-old man was cited for driving while suspended and unsafe lane deviation following a two-vehicle collision at Clark and Division streets at 8:32 a.m.

Crash: A 66-year-old man was cited for failure to control his vehicle following a two-vehicle collision on I-39 at Hwy. 10 East at 9:02 a.m.

Threats: A 47-year-old woman reported to police that she’d been receiving threats from a man, age 48, on the 500 block of Soo Marie Ave.

Fraud: Police were called to All Seasons Repair, 3425 Patch St., at 1:40 p.m., when an employer reported being scammed by a would-be customer.

Colic: Police were called to the 3900 block of Doolittle Dr. at 4:47 p.m. when a caller reported a disturbance in an apartment there. The couple had a colicky baby and they were arguing but agreed to separate for the night.

Busted: Police were called to Auto Zone, 3350 Church St., at 6:42 p.m., when an employer found drugs in an employee’s purse. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.

January 25

Main St. problems: Police responded to Icon, 956 Main St., at 2:52 a.m. when a caller reported a disturbance involving two people. It turned out to be a parking dispute.

Car v deer: A 61-year-old man called police to report he’d struck a deer near Hwy. 161 and Waller Rd. at 5:27 p.m.

Just a loud talker: Police were asked to check on a disturbance reported at 8:19 p.m. on the 2600 block of Indiana Ave. The “disturbance” turned out to be a 21-year-old woman talking loudly on the phone to her mother.

Trespasser: Police were called to the downtown warming shelter, 1300 Main St., at 10:45 p.m., for the report of a 39-year-old man who was not wanted on the property. The man was told to leave and not return.

January 26

Nonstopper: A 33-year-old man was issued a verbal warning for failure to stop at a red light near Fourth Ave. and Union St. at 2:12 a.m.

Disturbance: Police were called to Joe’s Bar, 831 Main St., at 2:23 a.m. for a disturbance, but the details were all redacted from the blotter.

Hit & run: A 72-year-old woman reported to police that someone struck her vehicle, leaving a “significant door ding” in her door at Pleet Farm, 5590 Hwy. 10 East, at 10:40 a.m.

Redacted: A 24-year-old woman called police to Cobblestone Hotel, 1117 Centerpoint Dr., at 4 p.m. to report a property crime. All details were redacted from the blotter.

Suspicious: Police were called by a known homeless woman for suspicious activity to BP, 4928 Main St., at 7:31 p.m. No details were included in the blotter.

Medical: Police and paramedics were called to Main St. and Strongs Ave. at 8:53 p.m. for a person vomiting blood. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.

January 27

So busted: Police conducted a traffic stop at Patch St. and Cleveland Ave. at 12:26 a.m. when a vehicle driven by a 39-year-old man failed to stop at a stop sign. After a K9 sniff, the car was searched and 2.15 grams of cocaine were found. The man was arrested for possession of cocaine.

That doesn’t belong there: Police were called when a natural gas furnace was found in the middle of the roadway near the on-ramp of I-39 at 3:02 a.m.
