Police & Sheriff calls, Jan. 17-20

Jan. 17

Take a Hike: A 34-year-old man was removed from a bar on the 2600 block of Stanley St. after a caller there reported he was causing a disturbance and was unwelcome at 1:16 a.m.

Assault: Stevens Point police took a report of an assault on the 1000 block of Division St. at 2:47 p.m.

Jan. 18

Busted: A 35-year-old man was arrested for bail-jumping, possession of an illegally obtained prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of THC. The man was caught during a traffic stop for driving without his headlights on near Briggs and Rogers streets at 2:39 a.m.

Disorderly: A 21-year-old woman was arrested for disorderly conduct from the 1300 block of Fourth Ave. at 9:53 a.m.

Family Dispute: Deputies were called to the 5000 block of Hwy. 66 after a caller reported a disturbance there. Two male family members, 44 and 21, both admitted they’d been drinking prior to the argument and agreed to separate for the night.

Marriage Patrol: Deputies were asked to increase patrol on the 300 block of Woodland Dr. because a woman there reported having problems with her husband at 6:28 p.m.

Jan. 20

Crash: A 20-year-old man was cited for inattentive driving following a three-vehicle crash on the 600 block of Division St. No injuries were reported.

Suspicious Activity: A man called police at 8:25 p.m. to report two men were acting suspiciously near an ATM on the 3200 block of Church St.

Pursuit: Police arrested a 36-year-old man on charges of hit and run, operating under the influence, and fleeing an officer following an incident near Maria Dr. and Division St. at 10:42 p.m.

Not a Burglar: A 23-year-old woman called deputies at 7:12 p.m. to report she believed someone was breaking into her home on the 1500 block of Torun Rd. After a search of the property, nothing was found.
