Police & Sheriff calls, Jan. 16-17

January 16

Bloody nose: Police stopped to assist a motorist who’d stopped on the side of the road at I-39 and Hwy. 66 at 9:45 a.m. The motorist pulled over to assist their passenger who had a bloody nose.

In custody: Police responded to P.J. Jacobs Jr. High, 2400 Main St., at 9:51 a.m. to assist in taking a juvenile into custody. No further details were included in the blotter.

Clawed: Police were called to Kwik Trip, 1600 Maria Dr., at 11:39 a.m. when an employee reported a retail theft that had occurred two days earlier. The suspect, whose name and gender were redacted from the blotter, took two cans of a White Claw alcoholic beverage. The woman was banned from returning to the store.

Busted: Three juveniles, whose ages and genders were redacted from the blotter, were cited for being in possession of vaping devices at Ben Franklin Jr. High, 2000 Polk St., at 1:25 p.m.

Harassment: A 26-year-old woman walked into SPPD at 1:37 p.m. to report she was being threatened and harassed.

Fraud: A 68-year-old man called police to the 3200 block of Jordan Ln. at 5:22 p.m. to report he’d been scammed out of $1,200 in Target gift cards.

Violator: Police were called to the 400 block of Wilshire Blvd. North at 6:18 p.m. when a caller reported that her 16-year-old daughter was receiving text messages from a known 20-year-old man who was under a judge’s orders to not contact her.

Calling mom: A 17-year-old boy was cited at 8:08 p.m. near Indiana Ave. and Patch St. for driving without proof of insurance and issued written warnings for speeding and operating without carrying a license. The boy’s mother was notified by phone.

Speeder: A 23-year-old man was issued a written warning for speeding 19 miles over the limit at Main St. and Illinois Ave. at 8:03 p.m.

Nonstop: A 59-year-old man was issued a written warning for blowing a stop sign at Francis and Water streets at 10:35 p.m.

Speeder: An 18-year-old man was cited for speeding at Crossroads Dr. and Meridian Dr. at 10:44 p.m.

Speeding: A 20-year-old man was issued a written warning for speeding and not having proof of insurance near Franklin and Second streets at 11:21 p.m.

No lights: A 20-year-old woman was cited for driving without headlights near Division St. and College Ave. at 11:33 p.m.

No clue: Police were called for suspicious activity at St. Michael’s Hospital at 11:40 p.m. but all details were redacted from the blotter.

January 17

Extra patrol: Police conducted an extra patrol in the area of Iverson Park, 4201 Main St., at 2:39 a.m. Extra patrol was also performed at Bukolt Park, 100 Bukolt Ave., at 2:59 a.m.

Quarrel: Police were called to Blue Top Motel, 3421 Church St., at 3:17 a.m., when a caller reported a loud verbal argument in a room between a boyfriend and girlfriend. The man, age 25, refused to talk to law enforcement but the woman, age 44, said she felt safe in the room.
