February 25
Truancy: Police cited a female student for truancy at Point of Discovery School, 1900 West Zinda Dr., at 8:13 a.m. Another female student was cited for the same reason at 9:50 a.m.
Quoting a song: Police responded to the downtown library, 1001 Main St., at 10:06 a.m. when a woman was making comments about “needles and tampons and shoving things up the butt, as well as mentioning a shotgun.” The known woman, 46, claims she was merely quoting song lyrics and did not need any assistance.
Harassment: Police were called to North Crest nursing home, 2225 Eagle Summit, a 9:28 a.m. when someone reported that a patient’s mother was repeatedly calling and demanding that the facility release her mother from hospice. The woman did not have the authority to make that decision, and the police were asked to tell the woman to stop calling.
Blackmail: Police were asked to investigate threats made against a 76-year-old man at 11:15 a.m. During their investigation, officers learned that someone was attempting to blackmail the man. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.
Who knows: A disturbance was reported on the 100 block of Forest St. North at 11:42 a.m. but all details were redacted from the blotter.
Another redaction: Police investigated a disturbance reported at the SPPD, 933 Michigan Ave., at 12:11 p.m., but all details were redacted from the blotter.
Hit and run: Police were called to a hit and run at Maria Dr. and Division St. North at 121 p.m. No injuries were reported in the blotter.
Broken down: Police stopped to assist a 44-year-old man whose vehicle broke down at Hwy. 10 East and Maple Bluff Rd. at 2:13 p.m. Officers stayed with the man until a tow truck arrived.
Trespasser: A 35-year-old man was trespassed from the downtown warming shelter, 1300 Main St., at 2:33 p.m. because the shelter was closed during the day.

Fight: Police were called to Bill’s Pizza, 1101 Main St., at 7:07 p.m., when a caller reported a fight between two men, ages 44 and 54. One person was taken into custody but the details were confusingly redacted from the blotter.
Warrant: Police located a known 54-year-old man with an open warrant at Kwik Trip, 1600 Maria Dr., at 11:54 p.m. He was taken into custody but additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Cited: Police cited a parking citation to someone whose age and gender were redacted from the blotter for blocking a fire hydrant and parking too close to a crosswalk on the 1000 block of Third St. at 2:18 a.m.
Disturbance: Police responded to a domestic disturbance on the 3300 block of Dixon St. at 3:39 a.m. The parties were separated for the night.
A flock of phones: Police were called to Doolittle Dr. and Green Ave. North at 8:35 a.m. when a caller reported finding three cellphones in a snowbank where the city dumps its snow. Two of the phones were returned to their owners.
Suspicious: An 85-year-old man was removed and trespassed from the Comfort Suites, 300 Division St. North, at 10:33 a.m. for reasons not included in the blotter.
Claims: A 19-year-old female former employee of a Division St. business called police to claim the company was hiring underage employees “off the books” and stealing employees’ tips.
Get off your phone: A 17-year-old boy was cited for inattentive driving following a crash in the parking lot of SPASH, 1201 North Point Dr., at 3:15 p.m.
Crash: A 21-year-old woman was cited for failure to yield following a two-vehicle collision at Ellis St. and East Ave. at 4:16 p.m.
Dine & dash: An employee at Bill’s Pizza, 1101 Main St., called police at 6:28 p.m. to report that two people were attempting to leave without paying their bill. No further details were included in the blotter.
Attempted burglary: Police were called to Sentry Insurance, 2101 Dixon St., at 9:38 p.m., for a possible burglary-in-process as four people were attempting to gain entry to the building, which was locked. Three people were arrested and booked into the county jail. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Nearly a cat-astrophy: Police were called to the 100 block of Minnesota Ave. at 2:42 a.m. when a neighbor reporting a fight. When officers arrived, they learned it wasn’t a fight, but a group of friends helping one of their own who was “freaking out because his cat was sick.”
