Police & Sheriff calls, Feb. 15-17

Feb. 15

Sleepytime: Police responded to the 2100 block of Division St. at 12:39 a.m. to check on a suspicious motorist sitting in a parked vehicle. The man had accidentally fallen asleep behind the wheel and pulled over.

Mysterious Prints: A landlord on the 3000 block of Stanley St. called police at 8:25 a.m. to report one of his tenants was illegally housing a dog in the apartment. Officers observed paw prints in the snow outside of the residence, but the man denied having a dog.

Fight With Child: Police were called to the 700 block of Union St. after a caller reported an “upset juvenile” fought with their mother about having to go to school at 9″45 a.m.

Hooked: A 22-year-old man called police to report someone had stolen hunting and fishing gear from a locked storage unit on the 1900 block of Texas Ave. at 5 p.m.

Crash: A 50-year-old man was cited for failure to yield and operating a vehicle without insurance following a two-vehicle accident near Prentice St. North and North Point Dr. at 1:41 p.m.

Crash: Police cited a 29-year-old woman for operating without proof of insurance and failure to yield when emerging from an alley/resulting in bodily harm, following a two-vehicle crash near Hwy. 10 and Wildwood Dr. at 1:51 p.m.

OWI: A 48-year-old woman was cited for operating without headlights and operating while under the influence near Isadore St. and Fourth Ave. at 11:19 p.m.

Feb. 16

OWI: Police arrested a 48-year-old woman for operating under the influence, first offense, and failure to stop for a red traffic signal at Second St. and Fourth Ave. at 2:24 a.m.

Busted Window: A 29-year-old woman called police at 9:08 a.m. to report an unknown person broke a window on a door at her home on the 1700 block of Spruce St.

Noise Complaint: A 22-year-old man was cited for permitting excessive noise after a neighbor called police at 11:19 p.m. on the 2400 block of Fourth Ave.

Suspicious: Deputies responded to the 3100 block of County Trunk X North at 2:26 a.m. after someone reported a parked semi-truck with its interior lights on. Nothing additional was reported.

Underager Rager: Deputies responded to the 10100 block of County Trunk SS in Amherst Junction after someone reported an underage drinking party at 9:05 p.m.

Feb. 17

OWI: A 41-year-old man was arrested for his third OWI and cited for lane deviation near Park and Water streets at 12:16 a.m.

Big No-No: Police arrested a 29-year-old man for disorderly conduct, felony bail-jumping, resisting an officer, and battery to an officer, during an incident on the 1300 block of Second St. at 2:02 a.m.
