February 14
Awardee: Stevens Point police issued a department Challenge Coin to a man for performing CPR on another person experiencing a medical emergency on the 3300 block of Main St. at 10:24 a.m.
Pump-n-dump: A 31-year-old female employee of a gas station on the 2700 block of Stanley St. at 10:59 a.m. reported a motorist driving a black truck pumped gas and then drove away without paying.
Juvenile problems: A police resource officer at Ben Franklin Jr. High, 2000 Polk St., issued a referral to the Portage Co. criminal court system, for a juvenile student, whose age and gender are unlisted in the blotter, for disorderly conduct at 12:20 p.m.
Lost: A 26-year-old woman called police to Main and Third streets at 12:54 p.m. to report having lost a black backpack containing her ID and birth certificate.
Crash: Police responded to a two-vehicle collision at County Hwy. HH and Crossroads Dr. at 1:03 p.m.
Trespasser: Portage Co. deputies were called to Willow Ln. and County Hwy. M ay 4:46 p.m. when a 41-year-old man reported catching on trail cam video a 31-year-old neighbor trespassing on his property.
Creepy: A 31-year-old woman called deputies to the 1400 block of Division St. in Almond at 8:19 p.m. to report having found “fresh footprints in the snow” of an unknown person behind her home from the previous night.
Return of the Heckler: Police were called to The Store gas station at Division St. and Fourth Ave. at 8:51 p.m. when an employee complained about a known man, 46, who was in the store bothering customers. Police told the man to move along.
The Heckler strikes again: A known 46-year-old man walked into the Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office, 1500 Strongs Ave., at 9:40 p.m. to say he wanted to talk to a deputy “over concerns in the county.”
Welfare check: Deputies were asked to conduct a welfare check on a 60-year-old woman on Regent St. at 10:06 p.m. after a family member reported having concerns.
February 15
Dog-eat-dog: Police were called to Pulaski Pl. and Fourth Ave. at 7:30 a.m. when a woman reported another person’s dog was attacking her dog.
Car v deer: Deputies were called to Hwy. 54 and County Hwy. BB at 5:32 a.m. when a 56-year-old woman reported striking a deer with her car. No human injuries were reported.
Car v deer: A 49-year-old man called deputies to County Hwy. HH West and White Birch Dr. at 6:33 a.m. to report he’d struck a deer with his vehicle. No human injuries were reported.
