December 12

Trailer problems: Deputies were called to Oak Lane Ct. at 12:40 a.m. when a caller reported someone broke into their trailer. Deputies were called back to the home at 3:43 a.m. for a welfare check, but there was no evidence of a problem.

Busted: A 31-year-old man was served with paternity papers by a deputy on a 3100 block of Church St. at 7:21 a.m.

Crash: Police responded to a two-vehicle collision near Michigan Ave. and Dixon St. at 8:31 a.m. No details were included in the blotter.

It’s the first place they’ll look: Deputies arrived at a home, the address of which was redacted from the blotter, in Amherst Junction to serve a warrant. The wanted person, a 30-year-old woman, was found near the home and taken into custody.

Ditched: Police conducted a welfare check on a 20-year-old man at the Old Highway 18 Rd. Kwik Trip at 12:14 p.m. The man said his 19-year-old girlfriend had left him stranded there. The man’s grandmother picked him up.

Outta gas: Deputies stopped to assist a 38-year-old woman who ran out of gas while driving on Hwy. 10 near mile marker 204 at 12:39 p.m.

Crash: Deputies were called to a one-vehicle crash on I-39 near mile marker 169 at 1:15 p.m. One person was injured.

Another one outta gas: A deputy stopped to assist a 41-year-old female motorist on Hwy. 10 at mile marker 210 when she ran out of gas at 2:16 p.m.

Mailbox fatality: Police were called to Owl Ln. and Kingfisher Dr. at 9:06 p.m. when a homeowner reported someone had damaged his mailbox. The kids responsible reportedly came back to pay for the damage. No additional details were included in the blotter.

Roommate problems: One person was cited for disorderly conduct following a dispute between roommates on the 400 block of Minnesota Ave. at 9:35 p.m., but all details about the call were redacted from the city’s police blotter.

December 13

Overserved: Police and medics were called to Kim’s Barrel Inn, 1001 Second St., at 12:45 a.m., when a man “had too much to drink and fell over.”

Fraud: A 77-year-old woman in Junction City called deputies to report “concerns about a scam regarding an alleged U.S. Marshal,” but additional details were redacted from the blotter.

More trouble on Oak Lane Court: A 25-year-old woman called deputies to Oak Lane Ct. to report she believed her phone had been hacked.

Get a scraper: Police stopped a 16-year-old girl near Brilowski Rd. North and Oxbow Rd. at 1 p.m. and cited her for speeding, non-registration, and uncleared snow on her windshield. She also received a verbal warning for not having proof of insurance.

Just a party: Deputies were called to a home in Plover, with the address redacted, for some reason, when a neighbor reported hearing several children screaming. It turned out to be a large birthday party for a child, and nobody was in distress.

Missing: Deputies assisted Stevens Point police in searching for a missing child from the 2900 block of College Ave. at 8:31 p.m. The child was quickly located safely.

No good deed goes unpunished: Deputies responded to Kennedy Ave. and Shady Dr. at 10:55 p.m. when a sedan slid in, and a pickup truck that tried to pull it out also got stuck.

Drunk: Deputies arrested a 31-year-old man for operating while intoxicated, first offense, following a crash near County Hwy. X North and County Hwy. DB at 10:59 p.m.

Where’s the fire: A 16-year-old child, whose gender was confusingly redacted from the blotter, was issued a verbal warning for speeding 74 in a 55 mph zone in front of the Rosholt Fire Department, 6075 Hwy. 66, at 11:43 p.m.

December 14

On da phone: Deputies stopped to check on a male motorist, 23, who slid in on I-39 near mile marker 167. The man was uninjured but admitted that he’d been on the phone. He was cited for inattentive driving.

More Oak Lane issues: Deputies issued a written warning to a 29-year-old man for having filthy car windows near Oak Lane Court at 12:18 p.m.

Mailbox fatalities: Police were called to the 3200 block of Jordan Ln. at 1:19 p.m. when two residents reported damage to their mailboxes. No suspects were identified.

Suspicious: A 37-year-old woman called police to the 800 block of Second St. North at 2:15 p.m. to complain about a suspicious person in a car taking photos with a “one-foot-long professional lens.” Officers found no vehicle matching the description in the area.

Not overserved: Police and medics responded to Little White Inn, 440 Second St. North, at 3:32 p.m., when a person there was experiencing a diabetic emergency.

Bad reaction: A 38-year-old man called 911 to seek help when he said he was having a “bad reaction” to the meth he took at the Holiday Inn Express, 1100 Amber Ave., at 10:34 p.m.

December 15

Fire: Deputies and firefighters responded to a structure fire on the 3100 block of Town Line Rd. in Carson at 3:24 a.m. One resident was home at the time, but he and his dog escaped uninjured.

Slander: A 49-year-old woman reported to police at 7:11 a.m. that two others were posting slanderous information about her on social media.

Vaper: Police were called to Point of Discovery School (PoDS) at 8:05 a.m. when a student was caught vaping in the background. Prior to surrendering the device, the student “took another hit from the vape.”
