Police & Sheriff calls, Dec. 26-28

Dec. 26

Domestic: Police arrested a 27-year-old man on charges of battery, domestic abuse, and strangulation/suffocation following an incident on the 700 block of John’s Dr. at 10:58 p.m.

Unwelcome Guest: Police were called to escort an unwanted 37-year-old woman off a residence on the 1600 block of Briggs. St. at 10:03 a.m.

Warrant Arrest: A 42-year-old man was taken into custody on an active warrant following a traffic stop near I-39 and Stanley St. at 4:07 p.m.

Unwanted Person: An employee of Day’s Inn, 159 Division St. North, called police at 5:25 p.m. to assist in removing an unwanted person from the property.

You Need a License, Pal: Police cited a 36-year-old man near Illinois Ave. and Clark St. at 10:36 p.m. for his second offense of driving without a valid license, and for operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

Dec. 27

Crash: Deputies cited a 62-year-old man for driving too fast for conditions and not having proof of insurance following a single-vehicle crash near mile marker 165 on I-39 at 6:47 a.m.

Bad Driver: A 31-year-old man was arrested for operating under the influence, second offense, operating without a valid license, license restriction violations, and disorderly conduct with a vehicle near Stanley St. and North Court at 1:31 a.m.

Dec. 27

Grinch: A 49-year-old woman called police to report an inflatable Minnie Mouse Christmas decoration was stolen from her yard on the 3300 block of Howard Ave. at 11:46 a.m.
