December 17

Yeller: Police were called to SPASH, 1201 North Point Dr., at 8:37 a.m., when a student was yelling at a staff member.

Who knows: A disturbance was reported on the 900 block of Second St. at 10:28 a.m. But no information was included in the blotter, so it could’ve been anything from a nude man running down the street to a verbal argument in a home.

No idea: A 76-year-old woman reported a disturbance at the Stevens Point Post Office, 1320 Main St., at 10:58 a.m., but no details were included in the blotter.

Bad patient: Police responded to Aspirus Stevens Point, still known by many in the community at St. Michael’s Hospital, at 11:13 a.m. when a staffer reported a 70-year-old man was swearing at staff.

Threats: Police were called to the 1900 block of Prairie St. at 11:35 a.m. when a 34-year-old woman reported someone was making threats, but additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Speeder: A 46-year-old man was cited for non-registration of his vehicle in the North Point Dr. roundabout at 12:45 p.m. He was also warned for speeding, but no word on how fast he was driving.

Non-stopper: Police cited a 46-year-old man for running a red light near Fiternal Crossfit at 19 Park Ridge Dr. at 2:07 p.m.

Who knows: Police were contacted for “school issues” at SPASH at 3:24 p.m., but details were redacted from the blotter.

Shoplifter: Police were notified of a shoplifter at Save A Lot, 3264 Church St., at 3:40 p.m. The store owner said he didn’t want to press charges; he just wanted the suspect identified so they could be trespassed from the store.

YMCA creep: Police were called to the YMCA, 1000 Division St., at 5:52 p.m., when someone reported that a 68-year-old man had asked a minor female for sex. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Why would this possibly be redacted?: Police were called to Ruby Coffee Roasters, 1410 Third St., at 6:52 p.m., when someone reported “possible property damage,” but all details about what happened were redacted from the blotter.

Busted: Police were called to University Inn and Suites, 5110 Main St., at 4:50 p.m. for a disturbance. They arrested a 40-year-old woman with an outstanding warrant. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Homeless: Police stopped to check on a 59-year-old homeless man at the corner of Water and Clark streets at 10:29 p.m. The man said he was fine and that he was taking a nap on the sidewalk.

December 18

Homeless: A known 64-year-old homeless man was cited for being in Mead Park after hours at 2:26 a.m.

Indignant: Police were called to the 2500 block of Minnesota Ave. at 8:02 a.m. when a parent reported that their son “refused to get up and go to school.” Additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Partied out: Police were called to the downtown Square at 8:17 a.m. when a woman reported that a known 59-year-old homeless man “passed out drunk sleeping in a snow bank while covered in vomit.” The man agreed to seek treatment at a hospital.

Romance scam: A 58-year-old woman reported to police at 10:43 a.m. to report she’d met a man online and gave him her email password. The man then scammed the woman out of money and attempted to blackmail her for money, but additional details were redacted from the blotter.

Liberal disturbance: Police were called to the Portage County Democratic Party Headquarters at 2220 Division St. at 12:58 p.m. when someone reported a 65-year-old woman had grabbed another individual and shaken them. No additional details were included in the blotter.

Argument: Police were called to the 600 block of Second St. North at 2:37 p.m. when someone reported an argument between a 21-year-old woman and a man, age 24.

Threats: A 30-year-old woman called police to the 400 block of West Scott St. at 4 p.m. to report being threatened by a 30-year-old man, but details were redacted from the blotter.

Not a fire: Police and firefighters were called to Arlington Pl. and Elk St. at 9:58 p.m. when a caller reported seeing flames on the second floor of a building there. The area was thoroughly checked, and nothing was found.

December 19

Return of the living homeless:  Police were called to an apartment building on the 1600 block of Fourth Ave. at 7:16 a.m. when a caller reported a suspicious man. Officers found a known homeless man, age 19, who was in the basement doing his laundry. The man did not live there, and officers told him to leave and not return.
