Police & Sheriff calls, Dec. 14-16

Dec. 14

Naughty Driver: Police arrested a 21-year-old man at 2:04 a.m. from the intersection of Water and Wisconsin streets for operating after revocation.

In the Park After Dark: Deputies gave a verbal warning to two people, a 34-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man, who were parked in Lower Whiting Park at 1:36 a.m.

Shoplifter: A 52-year-old man was cited for retail theft at 8 a.m. after stealing a can of mushrooms and a package of ham from a store on the 1600 block of Maria Dr.

Nonstop: A 75-year-old woman was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign near Sunset Blvd. and Lorraine St. at 1:43 p.m., resulting in a two-vehicle crash.

Jerk: A 36-year-old man called police from the 3500 block of Prais St. to report a passing motorist struck a child’s backpack while he was flagging traffic in a crosswalk at 3:50 p.m. It was not immediately clear if the driver was located.

Hit & Run: Police arrested a 59-year-old woman for hit and run while intoxicated on the 1100 block of Park St. at 4:54 p.m.

Dec. 15

Domestic: Police arrested a 28-year-old man for battery and domestic abuse on the 400 block of Sixth Ave. at 1:13 a.m.

Harassment: Police cited a 31-year-old man for harassment after he made contact with an individual he was under orders to avoid on the 1000 block of Main St. at 10:12 a.m.

Crash: A 24-year-old woman was arrested for disorderly conduct and second-degree recklessly endangering safety/party to the crime, and a 24-year-old man arrested for second-degree recklessly endangering safety, resisting an officer, and disorderly conduct, after a caller reported the man was pointing a handgun outside of his window on the 2700 block of Stanley St. at 2:18 p.m.

Suspicious: Police were called to the 1700 block of Monroe St. at 6:54 p.m. after a caller reported a man who lived there was acting suspiciously and had removed a new television from the community area of the building and hid it somewhere.

Dec. 16

Drunk Skipper: Police were called to the 1900 block of Texas Ave. at 1:45 a.m. after an intoxicated man fell through a glass door after he was skipping on the property.

Drunken Argument: Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on the 5200 block of Hoover Ave. South at 5:49 a.m. after a caller reported an intoxicated man refusing to leave. The man was taken by deputies at a local motel for the night.
