August 14

Domestic: A 35-year-old man was arrested on multiple charges related to a domestic disturbance on the 3700 block of Robert Pl. at 1:58 p.m.

Creepy: Police were called to the 700 block of Pulaski Pl. at 2:17 p.m. by a juvenile who reported hearing unknown footsteps in the house while home alone and in the bathroom. No evidence of a break-in was found, and the parents were notified of the call.

Who knows: Police were called to the 2100 block of Division St. at 3:23 p.m. for what was described in the blotter as a property crime, but no details were included.

Batty: Police were asked to conduct a welfare check on the 1000 block of West Pearl St. at 4:23 p.m. Upon arrival, a 30-year-old man complained that there were bats in the attic of the home.

More problems on Wood Street: A 76-year-old man called police to the 2100 block of Wood St. to report that someone broke windows in a commercial property he owned there.

It was warranted: Police arrested a wanted man, age 24, who had an active warrant from the 2800 block of Church St. at 6:34 p.m.

Homelessness: Police moved along a group of homeless people from Mead Park at 7:18 p.m.

Just being polite: Police stopped when they thought they were being flagged down by a man at Michigan Ave. and Ellis St. at 8:52 p.m. The man was merely offering the officer a friendly wave.

Ding-dong ditch: Police were called to the 4200 block of Sequoia Ct. at 10:16 p.m. when a 43-year-old man reported four juveniles had repeatedly rung his doorbell, left, and tried opening the door. Officers found the four kids, whose ages were redacted from the blotter, warned them, and notified their parents.

Squatter: Police received a call about a known 36-year-old woman living inside a vacant storefront, Dime and Dollar, at 3268 Church St., at 10:44 p.m. Officers checked the store and found all entrances secure.

Homeless: Police found several homeless people at the downtown bus stop at 11 p.m. and told them they could not sleep there.

August 15

What a reason to call: An anonymous caller who refused to identify themselves or file an actual police report called law enforcement to Lot 7 at 11:13 p.m. to report someone had stolen change from their vehicle.

Homeless: Police noticed a known 62-year-old woman sleeping outside of the Lincoln Center, 1519 Water St., at 12:19 a.m. The woman was told she could not sleep on the property.

Disturbance: Police arrested two women, ages 19 and 20, involved in a disturbance from the 2000 block of Main St. at 1:06 a.m.

Ding-dong ditch strikes again: Police were called to the 3200 block of Martha’s Ln. at 1:47 a.m. for a report of ding-dong ditch. Officers were unable to locate the suspects.

Homeless: Police were called to Frame Memorial Church, 1300 Main St., at 2:23 a.m., for several homeless people sleeping on the property. The people were told to move along.

Jerk: A 45-year-old woman called police to the 2500 block of Cleveland Ave. at 2:27 a.m. to report a loud party and bonfire down the block. The offender, a 46-year-old man, agreed to turn the music down and take the party inside. He was warned that he would be ticketed if police were called back.

Speeder: Police issued a written warning to a 17-year-old boy for speeding near Hoover Rd. and Industrial Park Rd. at 10:36 a.m. No word on how fast the boy was driving.

Attempted suicide: Deputies and medics were called to the 6300 block of Oak Ln. at 2:18 p.m. when someone reported that a man attempted to commit suicide by hanging. No word on his current condition.

Help: Police stopped to help a 53-year-old woman who ran out of gas near Hwy. 10 East and Country Club Dr. at 2:34 p.m.

Homeless help: Police stopped to talk with several homeless people at 7:52 p.m. about their living conditions at the bus stop in downtown Stevens Point. All of them were offered assistance to get off the street.

People of Facebook: Police were called to the 1300 block of North Point Dr. at 8:30 p.m. when a 23-year-old man wanted to document receiving a threatening message.

Violator: Police arrested a 25-year-old man on several counts of bail-jumping from the downtown square at 11:17 p.m.

August 16

Homeless: Police moved along two homeless people who were sleeping at the downtown bus stop at 2:18 a.m.

More homeless: A homeless 73-year-old woman was asked to leave the property after officers found her sleeping at Frame Memorial, 1300 Main St., at 3:02 a.m.

More homeless: Police cited a known 61-year-old homeless man at 7:34 a.m. for loitering and public urination.

Homeless: A known homeless man, age 60, was arrested on four counts of bail-jumping when he was observed drinking by the Clark St. Bridge at 10:29 a.m. The man was under a judge’s orders not to consume alcohol.

Car trouble: A 50-year-old man called police to the 1000 block of Williams St. at 10:28 a.m. to report that someone had gone through his vehicle and taken a few items. No further details were included in the blotter.

Too close: A 44-year-old woman was cited for following too closely after a two-vehicle collision near Main St. and Wilshire Blvd. at 11:20 a.m.

Problems: A 47-year-old woman called police to the 1900 block of Church St. at 11:48 a.m. to complain about “issues with a male that she was allowing to stay on her couch.” The woman was advised to go through a formal eviction process.

Bad driver: A 24-year-old man was cited for failure to stop at two stop signs and operating without a valid license near Bush St. and Welsby Ave. at 1:30 p.m.

Speeder: A 59-year-old man was cited for driving 46 in a 25-mph zone near Division and Oak streets at 3:36 p.m.

Homeless problem: A known 42-year-old homeless man was arrested at Main St. and Strongs Ave. on a probation hold for violation of a harassment injunction at 3:50 p.m.

Nearly a cat-astrophy: Police were called to Old Highway 18 Rd. and Burbank Rd. at 11:08 p.m. when someone reported a mistreated cat. The humane society was called in to pick up the animal.

Homeless: A 56-year-old homeless man was banned from all city parks at 4:47 a.m. after he repeatedly violated park rules.

More homeless: Police found a 19-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman sleeping behind a building at Vice Admiral Grant Park at 5:04 a.m. The people were cooperative and moved along.
