April 24
Dogged: Police were called to Maria Dr. and Georgia St. at 9:53 a.m. when someone reported a loose yellow lab running around. The dog’s owner was contacted, and the dog was safely returned home.
Threats: A 36-year-old man called police to the 2500 block of Helen St. at 10:47 a.m. to complain that a woman was calling his place of employment to allege he was a “sex predator.” No additional details were included in the blotter.
Stalker: A woman reported to police at 3:06 p.m. that she was being stalked by her ex-boyfriend.
Bad etching: Police were called to the 200 block of Prentice St. North at 3:45 p.m. when someone reported the names “Nayah” and “Kerah” had been etched by an unknown person into a garage door there.
Oh, deer: A 42-year-old woman called police to the 100 block of Forest St. North at 3:48 p.m. to complain about how an “issue with the deer” was handled by the DNR. No additional details were included in the blotter.
BB hysteria: Police were called to Howard Ave. and Orchid Ln. at 5:31 p.m. to report about a minor “looking for squirrels with his BB gun.” The child’s parent was spoken to and told that they’d be cited if it happened again.
Rape: A sexual assault was reported at Aspirus Stevens Point at 6:53 p.m.
Disturbance: Police were called when a verbal disturbance between ex-lovers was reported at the Stevens Point Municipal Airport at 8:56 p.m. during the Wine and Cheese event.
Noisy neighbor: A 22-year-old woman called police to the 1300 block of Sixth Ave. at 9:21 p.m. to complain that it sounded like her upstairs neighbor was “doing high kicks.” The upstairs neighbor said they fell.
Redneck takeover: Police were called to the parking lot at 5601 Hwy. 10 East at 10:26 p.m. when someone reported kids “doing burnouts” in their pickup trucks. Several young people were warned for loitering.
Sexual assault: Police were called to Domino’s Pizza, 3033 Church St., at 11:12 p.m., for a reported sexual assault. All details were redacted from the blotter.
April 25
Hit and run: A 24-year-old man was cited for hit and run after he crashed into a light pole, causing damage to the lamp, on the downtown Square at 2:17 a.m.
OWI: A 28-year-old man was arrested for his first OWI near Portage and Union streets at 2:40 a.m.
Jerk: Police were called to an apartment complex on the 2600 block of Indiana Ave. at 2:57 a.m. when a 67-year-old woman complained about loud music. The officer spoke with the tenants, who said they “got carried away” and shut the music off.
Creep: A woman working at Days Inn and Suites called police at 3:11 a.m. to report unwanted sexual advances from a male guest. The man was asleep when officers arrived.
Ring of fire: Police were called to the 900 block of Washington Ave. at 4:46 a.m. when someone complained about a loud gathering around a campfire. The residents extinguished the fire and moved their activities inside.
Disturbance: Police responded to the 2500 block of Fifth Ave. at 11:13 a.m. when someone reported a disturbance. A 55-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct and bail-jumping.
Creepy: Police were called to Bria Bella, 925 Main St., when the business owner reported an older man entered the store and showed an underage employee a picture of a naked woman on his phone, then left the store. It wasn’t clear if the man was ever located.
Bad guest: Police were called to Holiday Inn Express, 1100 Amber Ave., at 2:59 p.m., when management reported problems with a 45-year-old female guest who they wanted out. The woman had been living in the hotel for over a month with her daughter and had been smoking in the room, which was against hotel rules. Management also complained that the woman hadn’t paid for two rooms yet, and they could smell “chemicals” coming from the room.
April 26
YMCA problems, or not: An anonymous caller reported to police at 2:31 a.m. that a “child was [dragged] by a coach” two weeks prior. The YMCA had already conducted an internal investigation, but no additional details were included in the blotter.
Shovin’ buddies: Police stopped to check on what appeared to be two men fighting on the downtown Square at 2:33 a.m. The men said they were friends who were playfully shoving each other.
Day drinkin’: Police cited a known 57-year-old homeless man for having an open intoxicant on the downtown Square at 10:51 a.m.
Speeder: Police cited a 54-year-old man for driving 40 in a 25-mph zone near Illinois Ave. and Sims Ave. at 3:46 p.m.
Loitering: Police cited two homeless people, a 72-year-old woman and a 66-year-old man, for loitering at the bus stop in the former Shopko lot at Strongs Ave. and Main St. at 4:42 p.m.
Homeless stuff: Police had to respond to the bandshell at Pfiffner to dispose of personal property abandoned by homeless people at 5:01 p.m.
FORE: Police responded to Iverson Park at 8:30 p.m. when someone complained that a “group of kids” was hitting golf balls in the park. All of those present told officers they weren’t responsible and that the kids who were there had already left.
More homeless problems: Police responded to Mead Park at 9:05 p.m. to move along two known homeless people, a 49-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man, who were in the park after hours.
Car v pedestrian: Police responded to Patch and Church streets at 10:27 p.m. when a motorist struck a pedestrian, who was injured. No additional details were included in the blotter.
