November 21
Teen trouble: Police were called to SPASH at 8:25 a.m. to assist in placing a juvenile in custody. Additional details were redacted.
Fraud: Someone reported an incident of fraud at Covantage Credit Union, 1200 Badger Ave., at 9:06 a.m. Details were redacted from the blotter.
Collision confusion: Police were called to Wisconsin and Water streets at 9:26 a.m. when a motorist struck a bicyclist. The bicyclist asked the motorist not to contact the police, said he was OK, and rode away.
Homeless help: Police were asked to conduct a welfare check on a 64-year-old man sitting outside of Save A Lot, 3264 Church St., at 1:07 p.m. because “they had not seen him move in a day.” The man was OK but said he had nowhere to go because he was homeless. The man was given information about the local shelters.
Scared straight: A 56-year-old woman called police to Five Below, 5601 Hwy. 10 East, at 4:17 p.m. to “reprimand” her granddaughter for stealing an item from the store. Officers observed the little girl “frightened and tearing up,” but additional details were not included in the blotter.
Gone girl: Police were called to the 1000 block of Main St. at 7:20 p.m. when a caller reported concerns about not hearing from a female friend who was last seen four days prior with a drug dealer in Marshfield.
OW-oh my: A 25-year-old woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated/causing injury after striking a juvenile boy with her car on the 1600 block of Fourth Ave. at 9:03 a.m. Additional details were redacted from the blotter.
November 22
Maybe a break-in: Police were called to the 1400 block of Clark St. at 12:52 a.m. when a woman called 911 to report a possible break-in after hearing glass breaking. Officers found a broken window, but nobody else in the home.
Drunk mama: Police arrested a 31-year-old woman for operating while intoxicated, felong bail-jumping, and operating after revocation when she drove her minor child to a clinic for treatment at 2:40 a.m. on the 5400 block of Vern Holmes Dr.
Fight: Officers responded to the 600 block of Second St. at 3:21 a.m. when a caller reported four men fighting outside of an apartment there. No additional details were included in the blotter.
Unwanted video: A 24-year-old woman called police to the 600 block of John’s Dr. at 9:07 a.m. to complain that neighbors were recording them on video while they were in the parking lot. Officers explained the parking lot was a public area, but advised them on getting a restraining order.
Possible fraud: A 68-year-old woman called police to the 1400 block of Briggs St. at 12:24 p.m. to say that while she wasn’t out any money, she did show her life insurance policy to a door-to-door salesman.
Texter: A 45-year-old woman received a citation for driving 40 in a 25 mph zone near Main St. and Illinois Ave. at 1:25 p.m. She was also warned for texting while driving.
ATVers: A 58-year-old man called police to complain that people were riding ATVs on the bike path at Pfiffner Pioneer Park at 3:27 p.m. The three ATVers had to tow their vehicles back home, as they aren’t allowed on city streets, either.
Problems: Police were called to an apartment on the 1200 block of North Point Dr. at 4:58 p.m. when a neighbor complained about a loud argument between two people over who would pick up a prescription medication.
Garbage wrangler: Police were called to Bill’s Pizza, 1101 Main St., at 6:03 p.m. when a caller complained about a 43-year-old man “digging in the garbage” and leaving trash all over the ground. The man was told to stop and clean up the mess.
Shoplifter: Police were called to Kwik Trip, 3533 Stanley St., at 7:31 p.m. when a staff member reported a retail theft. No word on what was taken.
November 23
Fool: Police and firefighters responded to an unattended campfire on the 1900 block of College Ave. at 12:01 a.m. A 23-year-old male tenant was cited for a burning violation.
To CBD, or not to CBD: A 69-year-old man called police to report that his apartment manager was complaining about his CBD use. Officers told the man to work out with his apartment manager where he would be allowed to smoke.
Oops: A 21-year-old woman was cited for failure to control her vehicle in a collision at Borham Ave. and Heffron St. at 1:34 a.m. No injuries were reported.
Major fraud: A 39-year-old woman called police to the 3200 block of Church St. at 7:05 a.m. to report they’d lost about $22,000 in a fraudulent manner, but details were redacted from the blotter.
Facebook drama: Police were called to the 100 block of Forest St. North at 10:12 a.m. when a 34-year-old woman reported being threatened by a 44-year-old woman via Facebook Messenger. Apparently, it’s part of “ongoing drama between two roommates,” and the women were advised to work with their landlord regarding a pending eviction process. Officers found no evidence of a threat in the messages. Police were called back to the apartment at 11:08 a.m. when the younger woman made threats against the Jersey Mikes restaurant.
Hang in there: Police stopped near River View Ave. and Water St. at 12:33 p.m. to conduct a welfare check on a man, 43. The man told officers he was 30 days sober and had been riding his bike to a liquor store, then got angry at himself and “threw his bicycle down” as a reaction. He said he overcame the temptation and did not need any assistance.
Repeated complainer: A 24-year-old man called police to his residence on the 600 block of John’s Dr. again to complain that his neighbor threatened to shoot his girlfriend’s dog. Officers found no evidence that any altercation had taken place, but the man was advised to look into getting a restraining order.
Not the colonel: Police and firefighters were called to an apartment on the 2500 block of Fourth Ave. at 4:04 p.m. for a report of fire alarms and smoke in the building. It turned out to be burnt chicken in one of the residences.
Smokin’: Police and firefighters were called to the 200 block of Prentice St. North at 4:33 p.m. after a caller reported smoke in the hallway of an apartment building there. It was caused by a faulty common clothes dryer, which was unplugged.
Bad bicyclist: Police stopped a 33-year-old woman who was riding her bicycle on the wrong side of the road, and who “completely disregarded the stop sign” at Prentice and Franklin streets at 4:55 p.m. The woman was counseled and given a warning.
Bizarre: A 21-year-old woman called police to Metro Market, 1500 Pinecrest Ave., at 7:14 p.m. to report that she’d locked her car before going inside to buy groceries, but when she returned, someone else’s groceries had been placed inside her vehicle. No damage was reported, and officers were unable to determine whose groceries they were. The mystery order was brought back into the store.
November 24
Didn’t lose his underpants: A 44-year-old man called police to Main St. and Strongs Ave. at 12:24 a.m. to report that someone had stolen from him a hat, some new underwear, his watch, and a half-used bottle of lotion. The items turned up in the man’s backpack.
Ew: Police and paramedics were called to Mead Park at 1:55 a.m. when a man was “vomiting and defecating on himself” in the park. The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Homeless: Police checked on suspicious activity at a storage unit on the 5300 block of Hwy. 10 East at 2:08 a.m. Officers found three people, ages 21 and 24, who claimed they were cleaning out the storage unit, and they intended to sleep in their car for the night. The trio was advised to pick up their trash.
