Police calls, March 10-11

Police blotters sent out by local law enforcement agencies are now far longer with less than half of the information necessary to produce an informative blotter. Find out why by clicking here. 

March 10

Truancy: Police were called to Ben Franklin Jr. High, 2000 Polk St., at 10:52 a.m. for a report of truancy but all details were blacked out of the blotter.

Crash: Police responded to Ortho Molecular, 2017 Business Park Dr., at 10:57 a.m., when a semi-truck backed into another semi’s mirror. No injuries were reported.

Threats: Someone walked into SPPD to report being threatened at 10:56 a.m. but no additional details were included in the blotter.

No noise: Police were called to the 1900 block of Plover Rd. at 11:09 a.m. when a neighbor reported loud music. Officers did not hear any loud music upon arrival.

Truancy, again: Police were called back to Ben Franklin at 11:45 a.m. for a truant student but no other details were visible in the blotter.

Who knows: A property crime was reported at SPASH, 1201 North Point Dr., at 12:14 p.m., but no details were included in the blotter.

Booted: Police were called to the 1700 block of Church St. at 1:05 p.m. when a 37-year-old woman asked officers to remove the boot placed on her vehicle. The woman was told that once she paid off her outstanding parking tickets, it would be taken off.

Threats: Police took a walk-in report of threats at 2:28 p.m.

Who knows: Police were called to Washington Elementary, 3500 Prais St., at 2:29 p.m. for “school issues” but no additional information was included in the blotter.

Hit and run: Police responded to a hit and run report at Aspirus Stevens Point, 900 Illinois Ave., at 3:19 p.m.

Hit and run crash: Police were called to the 500 block of Green Ave. at 6:25 p.m. when a 32-year-old man reported that a third party used his vehicle and was involved in a crash sometime before.

Lights: An 18-year-old woman was issued a written warning for driving without headlights near Division and Clark streets at 7:53 p.m.

Lights, again: A 39-year-old woman was issued a warning for driving without lights and no proof of insurance near Clark St. and Illinois Ave. at 8:03 p.m.

Suspended: A 45-year-old woman was cited for driving while suspended near Briggs Ct. and Smith St. at 9:52 p.m.

Noise: Police were called to an apartment building at Fourth Ave. and Michigan Ave. at 10:55 p.m. when a neighbor reported loud music. The offending neighbor agreed to turn it down.

In the park after dark: Police issued warnings to a 20-year-old woman and 18-year-old man for being in the park after hours at the Pfiffner Pioneer bandshell at 11:16 p.m.

March 11

Crash: Police responded to a single-vehicle collision on the 1400 block of Sixth Ave. at 12:11 a.m. No additional details were included in the blotter.

Creepy: Police responded to the 1400 block of Torun Rd. at 12:31 a.m. when a caller reported that a suspicious 53-year-old woman was taking photos in the mobile home park at odd hours. Police discovered the woman was taking photos of suspicious code violations within the park for her own safety.

Batter up: A 32-year-old man called police to Lindbergh Ave. and Bush St. at 5:38 a.m. to report a group of people walking nearby, with one person carrying a bat. No further information was included in the blotter.

Can’t sleep here: Police responded to South Point Laundromat, 2501 Church St., at 6:36 a.m. when a caller reported that a 43-year-old woman was sleeping in the business. The woman was trespassed from the property.

Speeder: Police cited a 17-year-old girl for speeding 63 mph in a 35-mph zone near Echo Dells Dr. and River View Ave. at 7:49 a.m.
