Plover toddler to represent Wisconsin at national pageant

PLOVER — A Plover toddler will represent Wisconsin on the national stage later this month after earning the title of America’s Baby Miss Wisconsin earlier this year.
Oakleigh Retzke will compete for the title of America’s Baby Miss during the America’s Little Miss national competition, scheduled for July 31 through Aug. 1 at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
Retzke qualified for the national pageant after winning her state title in March at a five-state regional competition in Bloomington, Minnesota. Contestants competed in several events, including on-stage interview questions.
America’s Little Miss is a non-glitz pageant that emphasizes confidence, character and personality over elaborate costumes and makeup. The organization encourages participants to serve as positive role models while showcasing their individual talents.
As Wisconsin’s titleholder, Retzke will compete against delegates from across the country for the national crown. The winner will receive prizes and spend the next year representing the organization as a spokesperson.
In addition to the national title, Retzke is also competing in the National Miss Social Media and America’s Choice contests, both of which include public voting.
