Plover to host public meeting on new police, fire stations

By Brandi Makuski

PLOVER — The village of Plover will host a public information meeting this week to discuss proposed improvements to its police and fire department facilities.

The open house is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Village of Plover Municipal Center, 2400 Post Road.

The plans include constructing a new, stand-alone police station at the existing municipal center campus near School Drive and Wisconsin Avenue.

The project also proposes expanding the fire department into the space currently occupied by the police department.

The estimated cost for both projects is $23.5 million, with construction anticipated to span two and a half years.

Village officials, including Administrator Steve Kunst, Police Chief Ryan Fox, and Fire Chief Mark Deaver, will be available to discuss the departments’ needs, building histories, proposed plans, cost estimates, and construction timelines.

Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to attend and share their input during the meeting.

Written comments can also be submitted by email to [email protected] or by mail to P.O. Box 37, Plover, Wis. 54467. Feedback gathered at the meeting and through submissions will be compiled for the Village Board’s future consideration.

The board will not take any action or discuss the plans during the meeting, Kunst said.
